Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Good for you man. My DA said no way. If I change my configuration to try and get the car this year and I don't get it this year, I can't change it back. 🤷‍♂️

I ordered my Touring in 2020, pretty much as soon as public reservations were available. After watching the progress of the DE and AGT deliveries I was hoping for premium buying experience to go with this premium brand. But here we are, seemingly all Touring orders over the last 2 years lumped into one big pot with reservations being pulled almost at random. I did everything that was asked along the way to try and ensure that I wouldn't delay receipt, and yet folks are getting vehicles that reserved months and years after me. There was never any indication that exterior color would be the determining factor.

I have not heard from my DA in weeks, even though I have reached out a couple of times. I do not have the "apply for financing" button that others do on my order, suggesting I am not as close as others to receiving my vehicle.

I don't mean any ill-will to any of the lucky folks that have managed to progress through the process. And I am sure once the car arrives and a bit of time passes, this will all fade into memory. But for forking out $110k on a vehicle, I would have hoped that it would have felt that I wasn't just a number on a balance sheet, clambering with thousands of others while Lucid assigns cars like a certain ex-President distributes humanitarian aid in a disaster zone.

Add me to the list of confused buyers. I had to go to the website to find the link to finalize my order. No email from Lucid on that. No DA contact since then even though I've emailed him twice after getting his name from my SA. A call or email sure would be quite welcome at this point.

Curious, when did you finalize your order and what's your configuration? My "local" studio is also Tysons' Corner.

My SA and DA didn't know that either until they called Headquarters and confirmed. Sounds like a lot of the DA's aren't in the loop and not taking the extra step to find out these things.

I finalized Oct 26 and was an early reservation holder 3/21. Have a silver/ Santa Cruz on order. I made a point to get my DA and SA mobile numbers which has made contact much easier.

I had asked my DA and she confirmed with HQ and said the same thing, cant change config if the car is not delivered in 2023.

anyone with red / Tahoe got a VIN or confirmation yet that they wil get this year ?

Well, I finally got the email to apply for financing on my Touring. Previously, I had gotten an email asking me to get more info on financing, etc. But now there's an actual "Apply for Loan/Lease" button in my account settings. So that's progress, at least.

Don't think I'll be applying for anything until I get a VIN, but at least that's available to me now.

You may want to call your DA. Mine says the VIN info could be as soon as 10-14 days before delivery. I don't have my VIN yet, and she was comfortable telling me that I should receive home delivery before the end of the year. And I don't even have the "Apply for Loan/Lease" button in my account settings. I did provide information to her how I was going to finance my vehicle (BluPeak Credit Union) with balance via their payment site. She said she will share all that information shortly so I can coordinate with BluPeak and with instructions on how to transfer balance of funds for purchase.
 
Suggestion: When you talk to your DA, ask them what color/interior Tourings they are seeing with VINs assigned and/or delivered. They are unfortunately in the dark on a lot, but they do still have access to that kind of information.

I selfishly only asked mine to tell me when he sees a black one.
 
Are the Quantum Grey Tourings being produced yet? Ever since the Touring and Pure launch event, I'm getting more impatient as the days pass.

During my initial talk with my DA one week ago, he said that my Red Santa Cruz would be delivered in mid Dec. I believe that that there are various colors, loaded pre made Tourings at the factory. That explains the option up selling and offer to make delivery by EOY. They are completing PDI before VIN assignment.
