Interior and exterior modifications

Originally, I really liked the stock black lucid GT but I eventually decided that the contrast between the black and the silver was too jarring as it was. Overall, I wanted very subtle changes to create a stealthier, sleeker, more aggressive and unified look but still maintain some of the original design elements. So I decided on the following exterior mods:

1. Full Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF
2. Full ceramic coat on top
3. Brushed carbon vinyl accent wrap to replace the original silver top trim - when this trim reflects different types of light, it can still have an almost silvery sheen to it which is one of the reasons I chose it
4. Brushed titanium vinyl accent wrap to replace the original silver trim on the front, mirrors, side rails, and back strips - the color of the brushed titanium seemed more interesting to me and wasn't such a jarring contrast to the gloss black body paint compared to the original silver
5. Midnight blue wrap to front Lucid lettering
6. Midnight blue paint to Lucid rear lettering and "Air" rear lettering - wanted to blend this lettering and make it stick out less, also to match the color mods elsewhere
7. Midnight blue paint to calipers
8. HRE p101sc wheels finished in "brushed dark clear" to replace OEM 21's
9. 50% tint over entire front windshield and 20% to the sides and back (3M ceramic)

The interior mods were fairly minor:

1. Full ceramic coat
2. Fingerprint resistant screen protector to the central console
3. PPF wrap to the central buttons because fingerprints/discolorations were starting to show
4. PPF wrap to the inner silver side steps at the doors - probably silly, but whatever lol (what I really should've done was wrap the inner trunk strip but I forgot about it)
5. I've been experimenting with those static cling sun shades and found one that fits almost perfectly overhead. You can't see it when you're sitting in the driver seat so it doesn't really detract from the aesthetics but I think it does help to reject more heat. Might be a useful trick for those who still feel like the overhead sun gets too hot through the glass canopy.

Next post hopefully I can get around to reviewing my wheel replacement and what I've noticed so far about impact on range, performance, etc!

Damn love those calipers

The absence of platinum pillars make it look so damn sporty….

Do post more pictures, I thought only the cults of Jeep Wranglers owners do all the mods and Lucid owners are just handed down something already near perfection couldn’t be much improved or customized.

Yeah I took a long time to decide on the brushed carbon to replace the silver pillars because I really do objectively like the original design, but ultimately that's why I did it - to get a sleeker, stealthier, sportier look.

The car looks so different, but looks good like this. Much sportier and stealthier. Out of curiosity, what screen protector did you get?
I used a brand called Paperlike. They specialize in making iPad screen protectors that have a "paper-like" feel to them when you use the Apple pencil tool or whatever it's called. It's honestly an imperfect solution but the best amongst all the ones that I tested. The pros of the product are that fingerprints are basically non-existent or extremely minimal and can be wiped off very easily, and it handles sun glare very well. The cons are that you have to cut it down to size yourself, it's a matte finish so you lose a bit of that brilliant bright sharpness of the original screen, and it does change the texture of the screen to be more paper-like (which I personally don't mind, and actually kind of like, but some people may not).

Oh one other interior "mod" that I forgot about - I got trunk and frunk mats from Avery. I used the template created by one of our other forum members for the trunk mat and it fit perfectly. I submitted my own template for the frunk and botched the measurements haha so it's an imperfect fit. Just in case anyone wants to order a lucid frunk mat from Avery, don't use my template!

Looks great! You went with the HREs but still in the 21 size? I like the wrap the Lucid logo front and rear. Subtle but sexy. I’m glad Avery carpets kept the template and it worked for you ( I spent a couple hours with two attempts to get it just so)

Haha yes thank you so much for your excellent template - sorry I couldn't recall exactly who it was that made it!!

Yes I kept them at 21 because I like the look. I wanted to paint all the lucid logos but ended up only being able to paint the rear lucid lettering and the rear "air" lettering because the minute my guy took apart the front compartment in order to try isolate the front lettering he decided it was too complex and didn't want to mess with it. So the work around was to do a very careful letter wrap of the front lucid lettering rather than an actual paint job.

How much did all these mods end up costing, if you don't mind?

Oh forgot another thing, I also smoked all the lights front and rear.
You made it so dark, police 👮‍♂️ might be mistaken you for a radar-absorbing B-2 bomber on the ground.

Have to look back through all the invoices...this is going to be a painful activity lol...

The mods cost:

Full vehicle wrap - 7500
Exterior ceramic - 500
Full tint - 1550
Interior ceramic - 400
Caliper paint - 1400
Emblem paint - 350
Vinyl accents - 950
HRE wheels, carbon fiber center cap, black lugs - 15 020 😭

All the other little stuff was just done for free.

I’m running HREs on my Z8. Yes you pay a premium for lightweight, quality and design for sure

Where did you get the Fingerprint resistant screen protector to the central console?

How did they preserve or restore the lettering on the caliper after you had them painted?
