Are you guys are experiencing a black screen problem with your Lucid that is common with Teslas?

Sure. I get in the car in the am and the screen is all black as the computer appears to have shutdown but failed to reboot itself. I would then have to force a hard reboot to get the computer going again. This happens all too often and I hope not to experience this with the Lucid.

It seems like that shouldn’t happen. Best to have Lucid look into it.

Thanks for the feedback. Great to know Lucid doesn't have this problem. I'm so annoyed with our Tesla. I'm mostly looking forward to the mileage that Lucid offer. Can't wait! Thanks Everyone.

Like it just doesn't boot at all? If you enter the car fast enough the screen won't have loaded yet.

Something is wrong with your Tesla. That's not normal. My Model 3's screen was always ready to go within about 2 seconds of sitting in the car.

I have to agree with @Jetsyuan that failure to boot with black screen is not rare in Teslas. I have a 2016 Model S and have upgraded the primary computer to avoid the problems seen in older models with the small memory chip. Since the computer upgrade, I periodically experience the black screen. A simple reboot resolves the problem. I plan to address the issue at my annual service appointment in August.

This problem does not appear rare but may be seen in older Model S and not in newer Model 3.
 
I love how they focus on the one issue he spends 5 seconds talking about but completely ignore the thing he spent most the video complaining about…..SOFTWARE!! 😑

Regarding the door, hopefully they do him a solid and replace that at no charge
They aren’t ignoring the software; they’re very aware of it and are actively working on it. His issues with it are well known, and there isn’t much left to be said there until the new release shows up.

The door scratching was new, so they attempted to diagnose it and are actively investigation.

This is literally the best possible response, customer service wise.
 
Yea, I spent about 30 minutes talking with the service manager the other day. Everyone at Lucid is very aware of the software shortcomings, but because a lot of the employees have come from Tesla, they are approaching the improvements differently. It will take some time, we all know this, but yes I agree Lucid could use a little more forward and transparent communication and he agreed.

We had a 2015 Model S P90D and replaced it with a Model S Plaid last August. While much improved over the earlier model, the Plaid's software has not been glitch-free. However, the software glitches I'm still experiencing with our Lucid Air Dream after seven months are of a magnitude I've not seen in any other car I've owned over the past decade.

This morning all the audio in the car was dead -- not just the music audio, but also the seatbelt warning bells and the turn signal sounds. Of course, as with many of these glitches, it was cured when the car reset. But, frankly, I'm getting really tired of driving so often without certain features until I either get where I'm going or find it convenient to pull over and do a reset. Every time I get in the car, I feel like I'm rolling to dice to see what software features come up on this roll.

The saving grace is that the car is the best driving and riding machine I've ever owned. But this constant software crap shoot is getting really, really, really old.

The good part is that as @bunnylebowski reported a coming update is focused on squashing some bugs. Overall, I'm not sure what the big difference in our cars is, but mine has almost been bug free since 1.2.1. I have only had to reset it one time to cure a problem since then.

I feel for you, that would get very very old. I’ve been fortunate with my car to this point. Worst thing I’ve had happen lately is the car randomly turned off forward collision, lane centering and another feature when I backed out yesterday. I was able to just go into the dream drive section of the pilot panel and turn them back on.
My audio issues seemed to be fixed after 1.2.6, haven’t had my charging issue except the one time immediately after 1.2.6, and the fob can just be slow to open handles on occasion (it doesn’t like being in jeans I’ve noticed).
You early DE owners deserve more praise, I couldn’t imagine going through this many frustrations..
 
For the first time, I struck the issue that Jon had with the blind spot cameras not coming on when driving last night. All cameras then failed to work when trying to park nor would sensors work either. Walked away from the car and it wouldn’t lock so manually locked it in the app.

Today, stopped at 3 places and on 1 it failed to lock the car when walking away. I really wish they went with another design than handles popping out when unlocked because the randomness of the proximity locking working or not is annoying and it’s easy for anyone walking by to see the car is unlocked.
