Update regarding Phone as a Key availability for Gravity owners

I think my biggest complaint about this is that this is a feature that was promised at launch. Then by end of 2025, then "probably" in 1Q26, then definitely by 3Q26. You may see it as an "arbitrary deadline" but Lucid is the one that decided on that and communicated it multiple times over the last 10 months or so (as the first mention was make by Nick Twork in January IIRC). As far as I know, Lucid has yet to hit any deadline they've made public regarding the Gravity. If they don't like/want to make those dates then maybe they should stop talking about them.
We were promised V2H on the Air in 2022.

Should we count the missed deadlines and empty promises from Tesla? How big are the servers supporting this website?

FSD was announced in 2016 for 2017 delivery. Beta rolled out in 2020 to select users. This year in 2026 there seems to finally be a palatable product that was advertised 10 years prior.

I'm not trying to get into a pissing match about Tesla vs Lucid but announcing features and then having delays is industry standard.

Isn't part of the problem with V2H that the standard isn't quite there yet? If it is the case that the V2H standard hasn't been finalized (for whatever reason) then I could understand the delay. The bigger question is was Lucid misled/misleading about V2H standard availability?

Maybe I just don't understand the tech, but 8 years ago I got my fob-less Tesla M3 and I used my phone every time and never had an issue. So what is taking so long that would be worth improving on this? I know they're doing it differently in the Wallet but like, it can't get better than working 100% of the time, so why wouldn't they just do it the same way Tesla did and be done with this madness?
I know on my 26 X5 it supported Apple Wallet keys and it only worked 1/2 the time. So hopefully this extra time allows Lucid to ensure it’s seamless.

iPhone? My X5 (2025) has worked flawlessly, and I have never carried the key fob. Same with my Hyundai.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Lucid should not even ship a fob of any kind with Cosmos.

Just do mobile key from day one. And make sure it’s working before then, obviously.

Do the whole “burn your ships” philosophy.

Fobs are an added expense (and dependency on another outside supplier) that Lucid should just avoid altogether, anyway. And mobile key is obviously the future.

You spoke too loudly, so they are hesitant to release Cosmos and have postponed it 🤣

Mmm, and if they stop talking about future updates and timeframe, everyone complains. We want transparency they say, and when they get it, more moaning.

FWIW I've just been reading about UWB Apple Key-activated home entry door lock reliability. It's great for some people, not so much for others, some people have to take their phone out of their pocket.

I suspect that UWB keys are still a work in progress for many implementers.

Speak for yourself. Personally I don't want everything in my life on my phone. I sometimes don't carry my phone. I'd like either a key fob or key card to be able to open my car. Also if you are using a valet for your car and only have PAAK how does this work?

He speaks for me too.

I am Spartacus!

There will always have to be a key card backup, just not a fob. For valet situations, or when your phone breaks/battery dies, you'd have a backup card.

Rivian and Tesla offer other options like using your watch to open the vehicle. Rivian used to offer a wristband and Tesla even lets you use certain smart rings as well.

Plenty of ways to open a car besides a bulky key fob whose whole purpose is just that. Valets don't love it, but most know how to use the key cards to start a Tesla by now due their common place so I haven't had to explain it with either my Rivian or Tesla.

Not a big deal for some, I get it, but for those of who us who like the feature, it is in fact a big deal. This has been one of my biggest holdups, software wise, on getting a Gravity. Not the only, but its a qualify of life thing that I do enjoy is PAAK. It's like CarPlay/AA. Not a big deal for some but a make it or break it for those who do want it.

I had one of those wrist things for a Land Rover. I used it a couple times going to the gym

even when (if?) we get PaaK, I would always carry a backup key card just in case.

Especially when lucid calls themselves the most technologically advanced software defined vehicle…
