"All existing reservation holders as of May 31, 2022 in the U.S. and Canada will have an opportunity to order under the original pricing and will have at least 30 days from the date they are invited to place their order."

Things to note (as stated by various sales reps):
1) Must accept within 30 days of Order Confirmation to lock price (says "at least 30 days" but it IS 30 days)
2) Downgrading after May 31 will cause price to increase.
3) Upgrades after May 31 will retain pre-increase prices.
4) Multiple reservations are allowed and are refundable ($300 for Pure and $1000 for Touring/GT)
5) Reservations are non-transferrable so the car must be purchased under the name of reservation (Electrify America is also non-transferrable iirc)
6) Upgrading or downgrading reservations will not reset the placement (ie original Pure reservation made on Feb 1 2022 but upgraded to Touring on September 1 2022 will be treated as a Touring reservation made on Feb 1 2022)

To downgrade, contact a Lucid agent as this cannot be done online.

Need to delay actual car purchase?
I understand most people want the cars sooner than later, but I'm certain there will be some people who are still on the fence but are forced to reserve now due to the upcoming price increase. For some of us that want to delay the purchase for whatever reason (in my case I wont get full $7500 benefit if car purchase hits 2022 so I need to delay it to 2023), there are various methods to delay purchase.

Timeline and delay tactics looks like:
1) Reserve a Pure because those will be produced last
2) Order Confirmation will someday arrive. Will have up to 30 days to accept it once it arrives. Order Confirmation does not legally bind a purchase when accepted.
3) If really desperate for more time, select car options that have longer delays (ie Silver currently have delays). Note that Lucid may not allow further changes after Confirming.
*Does anyone know if we can still change specs after Order Confirmation?
4) After confirming, Vin Assignment comes after 2+ weeks (optimist, based on recent GT reservations) to several months (production and supply chain issues)
5) Payment/loan approval will be requested by Lucid ~2-6+ weeks after VIN assignment. Do not pay immediately as we've had cases where Lucid asked for payment right away (mistake by agent) and the car isn't even close to production. Be sure with Lucid that the payment deadline is not a HARD deadline sometimes they may just want to see some progress is being made.
6) Delivery and inspection for another 1-2+ weeks **

Other tactics:
*Ask if it's possible to test drive and have full inspection in-person before you can commit payment?
**If deadline to pay lands close to holidays, can possibly notify and request additional time from Lucid due to holidays. Tell them you're on vacation?
***Ask loaner to start the process and include Lucid in the communication so they know loan process has been started. At the back, talk to loaner to delay it a bit?
****Sign a blood contract with your life as collateral promising to pay the car on within a reasonable timeframe?
If people can confirm whether some of these delay tactics have worked, please post.

Communication is key. Explain situation and show genuine interest to purchase the car but need to delay due to circumstances and Lucid may give exceptions. Timeline for actual payment is important so make sure to communicate right away for questions and if the assigned agent does not give a timely response then call the sales number.

Good luck and I hope we get our Airs with tax incentives and at pre-increase prices!

Thanks for the info. I have changed my exterior color, red to black, and wheels, 21" to 20", since confirmation on 4/19 and my DA said it would not affect delivery time. I said if the 20" were going to delay I didn't want to switch and he said they wouldn't on 5/11. Hope the information he had was accurate and I think it might ok to change specs up until vin is assigned but I could be wrong.

does anyone know how to downgrade GT reservation to pure online? or do I have to go through the sales people? thanks!

Got my invite to confirm GT order today - reserved yesterday, that didn't take long.
Now I have 30 days to either make the plunge or chicken out. Which will it be?

I also have a Pure reservation as a backup plan.

My guess is anyone who reserves a GT today is going to be invited to confirm almost immediately. That's what I would do if I were Lucid.

I've seen some confusion on the forum about whether you can get a pure reservation today and upgrade it to a GT months from now and yet keep the old pricing.
My SA said that would not be an option.
However, I do like the 20" rims, so I have a small delay for my GT in either case.

First things first, get to Seattle for a test drive.

DA sent an email today saying 20" rims are going to be delayed to Q4 and if I don't want my order delayed I should switch to 21". So I'm back to 21" now.

Reserved a second Pure for back up. Alrighty, time to hibernate and focus on work so I can afford this car!

Upgrade is not retaining old prices, I just tried.

That is a bummer. I reserved an Air Pure with the intention of upgrading to the Touring. Think it $1k is too much to reserve the Touring. Not sure why they don’t just keep it $100 for all cars, especially when you don’t know ho wrong until you take delivery. Will just cancel my order if can’t upgrade to old price for Touring.

I think the agents are wrong on this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if the information they provided is wrong.
Could be a website error but also I haven't seen a post here saying that their agent said upgrading won't keep pre increase prices. I also don't see benefit on Lucid bait and switching about that as theyd stand to lose more profits from people either cancelling or not upgrading anymore

It doesn't make sense that an upgrade would retain old pricing at all anyways. Maybe just upgrades within your trim i.e. paint, ddpro, erc.
