Lucid Gravity UX 3.6 is here!

First let me say that 3.6.0 is overall a big winner so far.

One area that it originally appeared to address was my issue with HomeLink. Pre-3.6, I had to push the screen icon several times to finally get a gate or garage door to open, 3.6.0 fixed that. However after a week of so, it regressed to a new issue that didn’t appear right away after update but a week or so later.

I have an electronic driveway gate and garage door both of which I use HomeLink to open. Now, if I approach the driveway and press the “gate” icon, it opens the gate but the garage icon is no longer visible and I have to hard reboot to get it back and get the garage door to open. Likewise, when I pull out of the garage to leave, I push the garage icon to close the garage door. However, after doing that the gate icon no longer shows up as active until I do a hard reboot. Clearly not desirable. Also strange that it all worked perfectly for a while but has now regressed.
I've been carrying a small remote for the garage door opener since I got the car. Haven't needed it yet.

Today I had a random disengagement that also kicked the cruise control. The car started braking (regen) immediately in the middle of the freeway, for no reason. That's frustrating and unsafe.

Then on the next drive, the car location got stuck at the airport parking lot. Of course, that messed up with everything that depends on the car location, like hands-free driving, speed limit, etc. Here I am on the freeway, the speed limit is 5 and hands free doesn't work.

Interestingly, Android Auto was smart enough to realize the car was sending bogus location to the phone and gave up on that. It took a minute or so.

Talking safety and taking pictures of your panel while driving 70 mph in traffic? Just sayin'

I was just noticing the same bug today.
However, if you hit the parking camera button, then the home link icon in the top menu bar, all Homelink shortcut buttons will be there. It’s a workaround for now.

Another annoying problem on 3.6 is that brake intervention on reverse is always on, regardless of how you configure that in parking settings. The car will slams on the brakes when it sees ghosts. Very irritating.
Try turning off “Rear Pedestrian Collision Protection” in DreamDrive -> Safety Features, in addition to having Rear Parking Protection turned off

Does going slower work? My driveway transitions to a slight incline and I find brake intervention kicks in if I back up too fast. There is no intervention if I go slower.

I seems like the rear collision detection doesn’t account for non-level driving surfaces.

Not sure if it's 3.6 or the new charging firmware but daaaaaayyyuuummm

All the EV's I've tried recently have had this problem so I always turn off any rear brake intervention unfortunately.

Well 85A didn't last too long. Went from 18% to 59% then dropped and held 58A the remainder of the time.

You have a GT, not DE, right?

I had mobile service debug my charging issue and he explained that GT's indeed have different AC charging than DE which is why I saw the delta between my cars.

Was your Charge Limit set to 100%? The magic number is 60% of your Charge Limit, where it will calibrate and lower charging to not cause problems. This matched what I observed, usually I have my Charge Limit set to 85% so I saw a drop around 50% SOC (60% of 85), and when the mobile service came he raised it to 100% and then we saw it drop at around 59-60%.

Update on my 3.6.0 experience.

Last Thursday-Sunday, I drove 1700+ miles back from Colorado to Milwaukee and then to the Twin Cities on 3.6.0 and then have been doing my normal driving around town this week. In total, I have put on about 2000 miles since the update was installed in my Gravity. Things I have noticed:
1. Once, I got a random sensors blocked error when getting into the Gravity after being parked overnight. It cleared within a minute (no reboot required) and I haven’t gotten it again. No idea what caused it.
2. The hands-free drive assist disengages and then re-engages a lot on mapped roads that aren’t interstates. I didn’t have any issues using hands-free on I-76, I-80, I-90 and I-94, but other multilane highways, it is less effective. I’d rather just have hands-on than deal with the constant engage/disengage pattern. With my iX, I can choose which mode to use when hands-free is available. Right now, I'd like this option in the Gravity, too, so I can choose to enable hands-free only when I'm on the interstate.
3. The key fob continues to work great. Not a single issue since 3.6.0. I use auto lock/unlock and notice that it unlocks from a little farther away and reliably locks and unlocks every time. I'm very happy with how the fob and auto lock/unlock is working now.
4. The adaptive drive beam functionality doesn’t work great on divided freeways. On I-76, there is a decent distance between the east and west bound lanes and I ended up having to just use normal low beams as the high beams would only block out the oncoming cars 30-40% of the time and people flashed their brights at me. It works great on “normal” roads, though.
5. I am loving scheduling the climate and having send destination to vehicle back. I would love it if I could have the same charging network preferences in the app as we do in the vehicle so that when I look at the suggested route and charging stops in the app, it would match what I would get in the vehicle instead of having to wait until I get into the vehicle to see if I am okay with the recommended charging stops or if I have to manually enter the chargers I want to use.
6. The CarPlay bug I mentioned in my first update hasn’t repeated. Not sure why it stopped happening, but it seems to be fixed.
7. I saw some folks complain about GPS issues. I just parked in an underground garage and my Gravity lost its location. After I was back on surface streets in a neighborhood (not surrounded by high rise buildings), it regained GPS signal and found its location again. What is interesting is that, prior to 3.6.0, I could park in the same garage and it would never lose its location.
8. The new charging/pre-conditioning information is cool and was helpful so that I could make sure the battery was fully preconditioned before stopping to charge as I wanted to minimize my charging time as much as possible.

Overall, I am very pleased with this update.

for the first time yesterday, I was able to receive a call from my wife while she was driving the Gravity.

First of all, the fact that she is now driving the Gravity on her own speaks huge volumes about my comfort level, as well as hers, with the software and key fob stability. 3.6.0 is a major step forward.

But I had no idea how much better the outbound sound quality suddenly has become on 3.6.0. It sounds perfect! Is anyone else also seeing this problem has gone away? I was at the point where I was convinced it was hardware. So happy to be proven wrong :)

Interesting.but this should not happen at all. Could it be software bug? Our Audi etron charges with 22kw until 100% flawlessly

Unfortunately the demo drive car the last three days is still on 3.5.1 and call Audio was horrible. My counterparts could never understand properly what I was saying..

Yes, 3.6.0 also fixed the call quality issue in my GGT. People have told me calls sound perfect now and much better than before.

Has anyone noticed a fairly drastic drop in dynamic efficiency since the update?
I've been doing a lot of freeway driving with DD Pro enabled and my efficiency was running around 2.95-3.00. Once I installed 3.6.0 it dropped to 2.68-2.72 for much of the same driving, only with hands free enabled now.
