Lucid Gravity UX 3.6 is here!

I've only used DD on a couple of drives. It did really well on I95 in traffic. I felt like it the auto lane changing was making good decisions on when to change lanes. It left me in in the left lane trailing someone going about my desired speed even though there was an sufficient opening to my right in the middle lane. I think it realized we were slowly creeping up on the car in middle lane even though it was some distance off.

At one point I did get behind someone camping in the left lane going barely over the speed limit. There was plenty of opportunity for the car to pass on the right but it never did. I should have kept DD on and manually initiated a lane change, but I wasn't thinking and just turned off DD temporairly and went around them.
It won’t pass on the right. I think a few, including in @Cyp video, the car won’t purposefully break the law and pass on the right. You can initiate the lane change manually tho without turning DD off

I’m sorry if this question has been asked and answered, but I’ve had a gravity for several months now and still no software update. Am I behind the times or is it a very slow rollout? Does anyone know when I might expect to see it?

I thought passing on the right is okay in the United States. I know it is okay in California. I realize the preferred method is to pass on the left, but if there is someone camped out in the left lane there's not much you can do (in Europe camping out in the left lane while not passing anyone would get you a ticket is my understanding)

For context, you should be on at least version 3.5.7 by now. If you haven't received any updates in several months, I recommend reaching out to your service advisor to check if there is an issue with your vehicle.

It's not illegal in Virginia as long as you do it safely, don't cross any solid lane markings, and use the normal lanes of travel.

It varies by state and circumstance. So they probably just went with the most conservative settings and not pass on the right in general

DDPRo2 will not pass on the right which I think is a good thing since it as not a good habit. It will move right when there is faster traffic coming up behind. There are some situations where you have to pass on the right and you are correct that you can manually initiate the lane change by activating the turn signal.

I should have been more clear in my post. I 100% agree and I think this approach brings predictability to self-driving vehicles. Unfortunately, driving I95 in the NE really encourages some bad habits.

Received the update Thursday evening thanks to marqie! Friday morning, hands free dream drive was almost immediately available as soon as I got on the highway which was a nice surprise. Worked well, would like if it was able to transition between ramps of highways when switching as well. Did have camera issue Friday morning, but all back to normal after a reset (didn't reset immediately after the update, should have probably done that). Had to fly out last night, but am taking a 2 week road trip next week and looking forward to the drive! Will try to post an update

This thread is killing me. Still waiting for the update 😭 Help me @marqie ~

Passing on the right unfortunately is the only way to deal with left lane bandits. I’ve actually had people give me the finger after patiently driving behind them for a few miles , signaling with my lights and getting completely ignored and finally going around on the right. I blame the demise of drivers ED and law enforcement not giving warnings or tickets to these idiots

Flashing lights at a clueless person will get you the bird every time.

What version are you on?

Yup. That, and tailing them.

Most people don’t mind a single light flash if they’re the culprit (it’s happened occasionally from carelessness to all of us, even those who try to not make it a habit).

And most people will gladly move if you simply want to speed faster. But if you’re flashing your lights at them going 85 in a 65, you’re the asshole.

And if you tail someone to the point of danger, expect to get brake checked. And if you flash your lights at them incessantly, expect them to do everything they can to piss you off, now on purpose. Many folks will make you go around them and then happily move.

In short: treat others like you’d like to be treated. Even if you want to go faster, a little bit of patience and restraint enables you to do that both faster and with less stress.

Good luck getting people to drive calmer though :p

So much this. The number of entitled drivers that think the left lane is their personal lane to go 90-100MPH in and that every other car should move out of their way these days is bonkers. Especially here in San Diego. To me a light flash is a good indicator to slow and match the speed of the person to my right because they must be trying to warn me of my unsafe speed, right? 🤣

I've been doing 85-90 and in the left lane and had people tailgate and flash lights at me I've even had multiple people do this in the damn carpool lane when there were cars in front of me like they were expecting the entire carpool lane to empty out for them to go faster.

Just a question on lane changes. Is it only done with the turn signal or will the car weave through traffic if an empty lane is available? Love the no nag and the adaptive headlights. Key fob is still spotty, sometimes asking to shake key when I’m in car. That usually doesn’t work so I take the battery out of the fob and then success. I have been asked to put in password but that prompt only lasts a few seconds and then disappears on its own
If enabled, the car will automatically change lanes to the left to pass a slower vehicle. If you are in the fast lane ("passing lane"), it will move to the right when practical - at least when someone is coming up behind you in my experience.

Doesn't have to have someone behind you, it'll move back to the right anyway. I believe (but haven't tested) it just returns to the original lane you were in but won't move any further to the right than that. I have had it move two lanes to the left to pass and then back again later when it was clear but it seems when I activated it in the left most lane it never moved to the right when lanes were clear.

My wife got her update on Thursday but I still haven't been notified of the update. Last update to 3.5.7, I got my notice about an hour before she did. Our cars are identical except for color. I spoke with Customer Service yesterday and they said that they couldn't do a push. Do OTAs happen over the weekend? Any ideas other than to just wait?
