I’d say layoffs to the service department are starting to have an effect…

Go talk to the SC people. They know the current practice is insane. When I was there 1-1/2 month ago, I told them the SC system of booking the appointments, giving the customer a loaner or an Enterprise rental, and my car just sat there for 2 weeks or more before they get to it is right out of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest"!. The SC staff were polite and apologetic. Like the Lucid owners, the SC Staff are also victims of Lucid's corporate mis-management edict/practice.

I hope the new CEO takes some strong and visible actions to right the ship soon.
I think they quit doing that, my last two service visits started work within a day or two, but did take several weeks overall.

i would guess its closer to millions.

I don't know who's decision it was. I think the biggest error was letting them sit in service for weeks at a time, allowing unknown amount of easy lemon law cases against them. I don't understand why they did that, but it seemed to be SOP for a while. Customers don't want it, I'm sure service didn't either.
Their new solution is to just make it impossible to get a service appointment at all. I may consider contacting a lawyer and pursuing a lawsuit (or even class action suit since it appears there are likely hundreds of Lucid owners that are finding roadblocks to getting warranty service.) When I was unable to find any appointment openings in app, I submitted a request via Lucid website 2 weeks ago and then contacted Lucid Customer service this past Monday. Still no response.

That is insane. Any company that does this and continues to do this will eventually have zero customers. Word will spread quickly (already is) and no one will buy a product as expensive as this that cannot get service quickly. I know the CEO is brand new, but he should be all over this on day one and have a plan in place to fix this immediately and then openly communicate it. This and the software/key fob issues will keep potential new owners like me away. Sad, as every day, I think of getting a Lucid (think they are awesome cars), but then read these stories and just makes you think of not wanting to make a big mistake. Especially, when like me the closest service center is about 5 hours away. Come on Lucid wake up!

Someone needs to be fired for this! I really want to know whose idea this was!

Self inflicted BS
I just got through talking to a service tech about this, and he was baffled too. He just said one day boss came in and said instructions were half of you are gone.

Not discussed here much is the missing tech's skills and knowledge. Even if they doubled staff overnight, they would be useless green rookies for a while.

Big, dumb, self-inflicted loss.

Sad, but true!

The people I knew at the Lucid SC (Scottsdale/San Mateo) from 2022-2025 are mostly/all gone!

Have you contacted the service center?

Agree, it is the most stupid thing I heard in a while. Marc laying off service is plain idiocy. You are ramping up and you let service go? He saw that earnings was bad and wanted to make up for it....short sighted. He needs to be made accountable. I'm thinking he will be let go once Napoli is up to speed. Marc really made the mess worse!
