Air Version 2.9.2 - Pure RWD only

Looks I need to call then as the text messages have not been too helpful.

Update: I called in and explained the issue, and was told that my VIN would now be forwarded to the software team so it could be added to the affected vehicles list.

What surprised me was the estimated timeline. I asked the representative how long it likely would have taken for my car to be identified if I had not called today, and they said approximately one week. That doesn’t seem like a sustainable long-term approach when issues like this are bound to happen from time to time. I’m hoping the estimate was inaccurate or overly conservative.

On the positive side, I was told I should receive the update within the next 24 hours. They recommended keeping the car connected to Wi-Fi so the update can download automatically. If the vehicle is unable to connect to Wi-Fi, I should eventually see a manual download option appear, at which point I’ll use my mobile hotspot instead.

TL;DR: I called support, and my VIN is now being sent to the software team so my car can receive the update. The rep said it could have taken about a week for the issue to be identified if I hadn’t called, which is concerning. Expected update delivery is within 24 hours, preferably over Wi-Fi.
This "The rep said it could have taken about a week for the issue to be identified if I hadn’t called, which is concerning." must be a joke!

The "Bricking" affected Pure with RWD only, correct? And Lucid don't know how to segregate and contact the owners of these cars and prioritize push the downloads to these owners? Are they assuming that if own a Pure with RWD but you haven't called yet, you must be OK?! Is Lucid bandwidth limited to push the updates? If so, why can't Lucid suspend 2.9.0 download and prioritize pushing 2.9.2 to the Pure RWD owners first?

This is insanity!

Couldn’t have been too many or it would have been a recall right? Idk what the threshold is

If 2.9.2 fixes the Pure problem, there is no need for a physical recall.

The critical issue are the Brucked RWD Pures.

For the record, after updating the literal only weirdness I experienced was, first drive out of the garage it said I was drowsy and should take a break. That notification stayed up until I got to my destination and got out. When I returned to the car and drove home, zero issues or notifications and none today for my normal commute.

still no update to any version of 2.9 for my '25 Pure. 🤷‍♂️

If you haven't, definitely call Customer Care and wait for them to answer or take the callback option. Within 3 hours I had my software pushed once I called. Not empirical evidence you'll get it quickly, but it should help.

I finally received the update yesterday afternoon, roughly 3 hours after I called, just like @whitewolf2k3 said. I installed it when I got home around 7:30, which it took only 10 mins, even though the estimate was 45 mins. I didn’t drive it last night but made sure to test putting it into drive, and it was successful. I immediately did a hard reset just to be safe. Operated just fine this morning; the only interesting thing I noticed is that the front/rear camera looks a little darker as if someone adjusted the contrast. I’m just happy to be driving the car again.

I am on 2.9.2 on my 2025 Air Pure. I keep getting errors I have never received before saying the driver monitoring is not working, as if the little camera above the steering wheel can't see my face. I don't have DDPro (can you even get it on an Air) so I don't know what monitoring is even supposed to be happening. And I haven't moved my seat or the steering wheel and haven't grown or shrunk in size... The error appears on the left side of the dash where it usually shows the trip info, and then on the lower right side I also get a little warning icon. It stays until the next time I drive.

I guess it's not really affecting anything but just sharing it with others. Only other thing I noticed, which I saw someone else mention somewhere, is the contrast on the camera has been cranked way up (upper screen for front/back camera, not the overhead 360 view on the lower screen). Now the image is unbalanced, with shadows appearing very dark.

I’m still on .30 after briefly getting a message for 2.9.0 and then it disappearing before I could do the download (thankfully). Posts like yours make me think maybe I should be glad I am where I am. Car is running perfectly.

Lucid tracker shows 2.9.2 not being distributed for several days. That makes me believe it’s on pause, which seems to me to be a good idea, based on reports of trouble with it, such as the reports above.

It is confirmed to be on pause until they work out the bugs. I was told by a trusted manager in customer service that I have worked over the years. I am assuming it will be probably some time before they push it to our cars.

Personally, I have no trouble waiting. I’d much prefer they take the time to get it right.

I have the same issue it’s the message.

It is the Drowsy Driver Alert being set to on every time to drive combined with the steering wheel angle. I reported it via email to [email protected].

JUST EXPERIENCED "DRIVE SYSTEM FAILURE": I have a 2025 Air Pure that I updated to 2.9.2 about a month ago. I had no issues until this morning when I suddenly heard a rattling/rumbling sound from the car's rear-end concurrent with the Drive System Failure warning flashing on my dash. I lost all drive power while in heavy traffic on a busy city street. My wife was terrified as I quickly tried to get over to the side of the road while coasting. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The situation could have been catastrophic if it occurred on the freeway.

Aside from the challenges of reaching anyone at Lucid Service and waiting for them to dispatch a tow truck from 50 min away (I'm in the Bay Area), after 4 hours I finally had the car towed and was done with Enterprise where I ended up with a Tesla rental. In typical Lucid Service fashion, I have yet to talk to anyone about my car or get any sort of rough estimate re how long they will need to keep it for service. The only hint is that they reserved the Enterprise car for 3 weeks!!!

This comes on top of almost 30 days loss of use of the vehicle almost a year ago, shortly after the beginning of my lease. I had significant issues with everything from CarPlay, Lucid Navigation, Lucid Entertainment Center, and the Lucid Assistant which failed to work. Although I love driving the car, this is extremely disappointing!
