Air Version 2.9.2 - Pure RWD only

If new 2.9.2 solved the issue, why am I not even seeing this 2.9.2 as an option to install on my 2023 Air Pure AWD?
I have yet to get any 2.9.x update whatsoever for my ‘25 Pure.

If I understand things correctly, it's important to draw a distinction here. If you have a any AWD Air, I think you should have gotten 2.9.0 and that's it, while 2.9.2 was only released for Pure RWD models. If that's correct, any bug fix release would also only go to Pure RWD models. I don't think anyone with an AWD model (Pure or otherwise) has reported receiving 2.9.2.

I installed 2.9.2 last night in my garage without trouble and played with the ambient lighting a bit, but didn't drive the car. I'm now out of town (diff car) and my Air is still in the garage. This morning I got a notification to install 2.9.2 (same version number... seriously?!) and it just fails everyone I try to kick it off. Been doing the same for 6+ hours

Exactly. I have a RWD ‘25 Pure but have not received any 2.9.x update of any sort. I’m on 2.8.30 still.

24 Pure
Received 2.9.2 Friday evening, installed in 1hr and drove 60 miles after. No issues yet, thank God. Appreciate the colored themes and don't know if it's my eyes playing tricks but noticed resolution a bit improved on screens. Also, noticed little improvement in surreal surround (not pro).

So I’ve been thinking about this. I’ve had issues with my car twice. Once the plastic ribbon around the frunk broke when I got the car. This time a software mishap. Each time Lucid was great to me. I know other people have complaints but the people on the phone managed the situation about as well as they could. Honestly the towing and rental offerings they gave me were very nice. And the software was a quick bit of scariness.

I think they should give referral points when this happens. A lot of us have had issues. There are limited things they can offer, but legitimately they should give something. It’s like when a hotel upgrades you when there is an issue. Or a restaurant gives you free dessert because they screwed up. Twice in a year is a lot. And I know many people have had many more issues. And I think free swag would make the whole thing more palatable.

Because again, their service and speed are great. But that just fixes the problem, it doesn’t take the bad taste out of your mouth.

I had to call Customer Service to get my VIN added to the roll out of the update to the update. They told me it would be 12-24 hours. I thought it would be an automatic thing since they should know which cars had it installed, but I guess not.

Same notification and update procedure. Have to see what tomorrow morning brings.

24 Pure RWD installed 2.9.2 Friday remotely while on vacation. First time I opened the app this AM I got the 0% charge notice and then read of the bricked cars. Now I hear about the rollout of the fix still called 2.9.2 and my app shows 65% charge. Any idea of the fix would have been installed without my having to approve it? Does the new correct charge percentage mean the car isn’t bricked? Would love to not have to deal with this Monday AM when I need to go to work.

If your car needed the fix, it would show up as downloaded, and you would have to install it. If you did not have the 'brick' problem at the onset, then I imagine you probably will not be getting the fix.

I make it a practice to not install updates while I am on the road. Especially so if you are somewhere remote.

If it showed up needing your approval, do you think it would appear in the app as new update awaiting installation or maybe not visible in the app at all since the version number didn’t change with the fix?

I expect there will be some version number change to the fix, but there has never been an update that installed automatically. You will see it posted as ready to install in the app and the vehicle.

Honestly, if these reports of anomalies are true, this kind of SW update is illustrative of Lucid's ineptness in SW management. This is not the first-time things like that happen.
At least they pulled it and fixed within 24 hours. That is a good sign. Slow and steady....hopefully they will have figured most of this out by the time Cosmos comes out.

Wouldn't that affect their finances more...they need to save every dollar. Its the cost of buying a car from a new manufacturer. Rivian owners have had issues as well. Its the norm with new car companies.

Honestly, wholesale t-shirts or whatever swag would be cheap. It’s about brand loyalty.

Do we need to request for the patch to fix the brick problem? Or the patch software update will roll out automatically? Need the car obviously

Automatically.

I guess I have great timing. My RWD Air Pure has been in service for almost 3 weeks 🤐 and was to be returned to me today, but I received a phone call stating that my car downloaded the new update and it showed "Drive System Failure" as they were loading it on the flatbed!!!

Still no new update.....glad I had a whole weekend to cancel plans and sit on my ass and go absolutely nowhere.
