Air Version 2.9.2 - Pure RWD only

This may be a complete waste of time, but if you are frustrated waiting for the update (or the update's update) to arrive, here's something you may want to check... I don't know if it was because of Lucid's desire to prioritize the wi-fi downloads, but for the first time, I did not receive the usual 'ready to install' notice for 2.9.0. Instead, what I noticed was a small white dot on/near the pilot panel's settings 'snowflake'. That prompted me to look around, and on the 'About' page (the one where you do a logo reset) I had a notification that 2.9.0 was ready to download. Note that I said 'DOWNLOAD'... (This is a first for me, as the only notification I have ever received before, whether on the app or in the car, was when the app had already DOWNLOADED on its own, and was now ready to INSTALL.) I hit the prompt to proceed, and the DOWNLOAD began. About 1/2 hour later, I received the usual notification on my app that the update was ready to INSTALL, which I was able to start remotely.

So, if you are wondering where your update (or the sequel) is, you might want to take a look for that white dot or on the 'About' page.

BTW, if anyone with a 'bricked' car has received and successfully installed the sequel to 2.9.2, it would be very helpful for you to post its reference number. I have to believe that there will be change of some kind, so that people still on 2.8.30 can tell if they are about to install the 'brick' or 'brick-free' version of the update.

I am sure bricked version is fully pulled. Mine was ready for install in the app - means fully downloaded but then it disappeared after they pulled it. It hasn’t been offered back yet. I am assuming they do more validation next week before opening it up again.

That's pretty interesting. I wonder if they are able to actually delete the file, or if they just suspend the install notification until they overwrite it with the fix. Still seems to make sense for them to change the numbering for the fixed version.

Yes, I have checked that more than 20 times in the last 24 hours. Pointless. If that had the ability to "check in" and look for the latest update........but no. Still sitting on my ass wasting an entire weekend because the only car I own is bricked. Woo.

Very surprised that folks who have their cars not drivable are still waiting. From posts here, several had code pushed to them, and that resolved their issue. Did you all contact customer service? One would assume Lucid is automatically pushing the update to all the impacted vehicles! But it sounds like that is not universally the case!

Well, I did try calling today, but I got the message to call during business hours. I don't want to call for a "roadside emergency" because, let's face it, it's annoying, i'm upset, but I'm definitely not needing it THAT badly. I would hate to be the reason someone didn't get legitimate help while on the road, i'm parked in my garage at least lol.

I called road side assistance, they can only tow the vehicle, and basically told me no one can help with the software today. This is such a terrible experience.

The customer care doesn’t work today, unbelievable
Normal customer support during business hours is typical of many companies. Lucid has roadside service 24/7 - I would try contacting them.

I finally did today, same as other people I was patiently waiting my turn to get update roll out. But need the car to go to work tomorrow. When I called earlier, the gentleman says other people called as well, the care team is not working today, even if they transferred to them, the call eventually bounce back. I am all for positive spirit to support Lucid team, but what am going to do with a bricked car.

You need to call Customer Service so that they can add your VIN to the rollout list for the patch. When I called Saturday evening, the agent didn't know that my VIN was an affected car even though the config matched the requirements. It appears they do not know which car actually was updated to the original 2.9.2. I guess their database isn't up to the task.

Now that they're open today, called Customer Care and left a call back. Called me back in about 15 minutes (knew I shouldn't have jumped in the shower but we all learn :)). Explained the issue, and he let me know the OTA team is trying to push it to my car. So, we will see. Have to give kudos, he did offer me ride assistance (not the kind of guy who expects things for free) and I declined, easy to work from home (for me). Will update once I receive, or if any issues getting the update.

The reply I got is they are working on pushing the update to me but no eta. So I guess the car still won’t be drivable for at least another day…

Sadly, nothing received as of now. Staring at my Ubiquity and lots of uploading, no downloads yet

Last 24 hours show 200mb uploaded but only 22mb downloaded, no patch.

Just got the notification update available, updating now.

Not empirical data, but looks like it took just shy of 3 hours for it to hit the car after calling. Hopefully anyone else who called in is getting it shortly, if not already.

Will report any issues post install and a quick "freedom from home captivity" drive around town.

Looks I need to call then as the text messages have not been too helpful.

Update: I called in and explained the issue, and was told that my VIN would now be forwarded to the software team so it could be added to the affected vehicles list.

What surprised me was the estimated timeline. I asked the representative how long it likely would have taken for my car to be identified if I had not called today, and they said approximately one week. That doesn’t seem like a sustainable long-term approach when issues like this are bound to happen from time to time. I’m hoping the estimate was inaccurate or overly conservative.

On the positive side, I was told I should receive the update within the next 24 hours. They recommended keeping the car connected to Wi-Fi so the update can download automatically. If the vehicle is unable to connect to Wi-Fi, I should eventually see a manual download option appear, at which point I’ll use my mobile hotspot instead.

TL;DR: I called support, and my VIN is now being sent to the software team so my car can receive the update. The rep said it could have taken about a week for the issue to be identified if I hadn’t called, which is concerning. Expected update delivery is within 24 hours, preferably over Wi-Fi.
