I’d say layoffs to the service department are starting to have an effect…

You all may be shocked to hear that when I called, nobody answered, it didn't even say I was calling Lucid, and I got a blank generic voicemail

Well, Beverly Hills is in desperate need of more car lifts so they can actually service and fix cars in a timely manner. Maybe he can help them out 😂
A win-win!!!

minor update: Car shipped to Rocklin. They have great customer service and easy to communcate with.

Unfortunately, they had to repair Seattle's damage (again), and the repairs they didn't do. Rocklin had to redo a roof rail (I didn't even spot that but they did), replace all the trim around the trunk, replace 3 door handles, redo all the pillar wiring done wrong by Seattle, replace the roof bow.

Apparently the roof bows are constant problems, because the one the replaced it with failed overnight and bent. So they have to order another one, which will be my 4 roof bow. Ever wonder why no other manufacture tries to glue metal to glass? This is why!! Also putting in a 3rd parcel shelf or repairing it or something.

No news on the suspension clunk.

BBB Autoline has deamed the car eligable for buyback and arbitration, now its on to see if Lucid will try and fight it.

I’m still paying for it and love driving the car. Never had a single issue with the way it drives. I’m not even mad I’m just disappointed 🤣

That may be the worst part. You can see how great the car could be, just not the one you got stuck with. I'd pull all your documentation together and send a nicely worded letter to the new CEO. It'll get routed to somewhere, for sure, but it might get you the right level of attention before you give up. The important part is that you are not an angry or lost customer, just one who has not had the kind of Lucid owning experience that they'd like to be offering.

I think its beyond that point. They are trying, but unable to really execute, and I've had enough. However they do have the opportunity to accept the vehicle back, which is my desired resolution.

I believe leasing is more popular in the luxury space and not just specific to Lucid but there’s a good reason people are returning over paying the residual.

The residual is often more than what the car is worth and BoA won’t let you negotiate on it. If Lucid actually delivers on its promises with the Gravity I would’ve actually considered purchasing it at lease end but when I signed the leasing paperwork I laughed at the residual and though “good luck getting anywhere near that” no way will my car be worth what the residual is so it will be handed back and become BoA’s problem to deal with.
I suppose if you're happy with your vehicle, you can keep track of its VIN, return it at end of lease, and then try and find it on the used car market. I imagine that lease returns are primarily being sold through the official Lucid "available vehicles" page, and it might be a simple as calling up a Lucid SA and asking them to search the system for your VIN. I see that when I go look at a specific pre-owned Air, its page does show me the VIN, but I don't see anywhere I could search for a specific VIN.

newest update: Rocklin service found lots of bolts "undertorqued" including some sort of panels that support the battery, they "think" that's the suspension clunk, but aren't sure, they can hear it but first thought it was a window switch that was "installed improperly" or maybe, more untorqued bolts courtesy of Lucid Seattle

So Lucid Seattle throws the factory under the bus, Rocklin throws Seattle under the bus, and I have a car made of loose bolts! !@#$!@#

Yeah, definitely worth looking into but not sure if Lucid keeps them all or not. When I traded my Air in for the Gravity it only had 13K miles on it, was tinted, PPF’d, ceramic coated etc. and it went off to auction. Would’ve thought that would be a vehicle they may have wanted to keep for inventory but guess not.

I don't see them doing that, there's barely a model year difference and a 3 year old one is half the price, it would totally canibalize their new car sales

Wow... not very reassuring. I keep telling them that the suspension problems I have could be just that, something as simple as bad bearings or bolts not torqued to spec.
Thanks for keeping us posted. It's also a good way for you to publicly document the process.

I swear if one more service center tells me “sorry the car should not have left the factory like that” I’m gonna lose it.

to be fair, it probably shouldn't have :P

Can confirm, there is no mobile service in Idaho Utah or anywhere Utah serviced previously. They are trying to hire and train someone “around June”.

Buyers in those states, beware.

They sell used Airs on their site right now. At some point, a car manufacturer has to accept that there is a market for their used vehicles, and their only decision is whether or not to participate. Since most car companies run some kind of certified-pre-owned vehicle program these days, it seems that the industry consensus is that economics favors them being engaged with the used market.

Just got it back from Rocklin. Roof bow popped off in service so they tried another one and it peeled off too.

Thanks, Lucid!

Your car is cursed, that's why they don't want it back either 🤷‍♂️
they fixed everything else tho lol

All the door handles work great! Super responsive and mobile key works great now. They said it was an internal fault in the door handles.

The suspension is perfect! It was loose HV battery tray, not suspenions.

The rear trunk seal is perfect!

Dear Diary:

Today all the door handles quit working, and they’re shipping the car back to Rocklin. I get a Jeep Cherokee and it’s door handles work.
Ahhh, spoke too soon! (about replacing 3 out of 4 of your door handles). Unfortunately, I know the drill with door handles. It is hard to convince someone who doesn't have the problem. They always think you are exaggerating!

I am sure it will get fixed, eventually....it is getting close, any year now!;)

I got it on video trying to open the car. I sent it too them. Now NONE of them wake the car 😂 yesterday it worked fine!!!
