Two bit davinci projects donut battery in gravity based on scaling motorcycle data.
Yes and no, the chemistry profile will have a taper at some current. For example two bit davinci projects 400kw dc fast charging a gravity size donut pack will be constant max until 70% soc because the battery chemistry can handle more than 400kw and infrastructure current is limiting until then at which point the donut chemistry becomes rate limiting and taper begins. My understanding is that one of the big benefits of solid state batteries is that the charging is linear; that is, the charging rate doesn't taper off as you approach 100% SOC. OTOH, the charger itself would probably throttle down due to heat buildup. So the weak link would be the charger and not the SS battery.
BTW in that video they compare the charge curve to the Gravity, since Gravity has the best charging curve. Two bit davinci projects donut battery in gravity based on scaling motorcycle data.
Thanks for the video. It really looks like this battery is for real and solid state is coming.new test....

Yay, would like to have seen the nail test, but this data changes the safety concern of an ev, both for driving, but also for shipping and manufacturing (in an area that could see external issues like a drone ‘excursion’ - no fire hazard like lithium! This is looking more and more like a game changer and I for one respect their marketing ploy to keep attention on their product and grow it over the weekly release, but am starting to get frustrated. I want to see the cold data, weigh the cell, and some indication that this has the cycle life because even high 5c cycling would go for close to a year or more if the life is near 100,000 cycles. I want this scaled and if Marc has seen data that confirms the claims it should be in the 27 ggt because that unlike the gravity rollout is no compromises!!new test
And in the recent (2/4/2026) news for QS: "The Eagle Line is a powerful platform to demonstrate scalable production of our solid-state technology and serve customer demand for better batteries. This is the next major step in the commercialization of our technology." It has taken them a while to figure out the technology (as with others) so just have to be patient, SSBs are coming. Plus QS offers a real reasonable investment.QuantumScape SSB's are trending much better IMO. VW backed, and commercial deployments into Ducati bikes as they scale into mass production with their patented ceramic coating.
Interesting... at the same time, production of a motorcycle using Donut labs battery is beginning with deliveries starting in "the first quarter" for early reservation holders.

Oh dear, what am I to think? I wonder if the answer is in my World Book Encyclopedia? It was 100% reliable, before this new "internet" thing...

In the mean time don't buy a Lucid, lease it so you are not stuck with old technology once SSBs hit the market en masse. My lease on a 2024 Lucid Air Pure is up 7/2027, not sure there will be a reasonably priced EV with a SSB in it then, so another lease is in line or so I think. Further, it would be nice if Lucid would put a larger battery (92 or 112) in a Lucid Air Pure RWD with 19" wheels at 5+ mi/kWh to get a car that goes a longer distance, 420 miles now is OK but that is all it is, is OK, Lucid are you listening?
A cro with vtt’s reputation especially, would sue a client if they altered the data or testing protocol, especially of a small client like donut labs."Two Bit da Vinci" went to the source documents that his internet search flushed out to find the origin of the Donut Lab technology and also to retrieve earlier versions of Donut Lab reports that have now been modified. As he says in the video, the internet can sometimes be a useful thing when its limits are understood and due diligence is exercised.
Yes, their semi-solid state tech is better and closer to mass production, but the latest problem besides shrinking the oven bake time to a point where it is now possible to scale is failure rate reduction, which is (was?) too high the last I really looked into their tech to be economically viable. I hope they have got it taken care of by now. The interesting and devastating side effect I heard about the donut lab battery claims is funding is drying up for battery investments because they aren’t as good as the donut battery. Not sure if this is true and even if it is how much funding evaporation is occuring due to money chasing everything that has ai on it as well as the economic chaos monkey that tariff and now war uncertainty is churning through the system? And in the recent (2/4/2026) news for QS: "The Eagle Line is a powerful platform to demonstrate scalable production of our solid-state technology and serve customer demand for better batteries. This is choreographed, probably for marketing the verge motorcycle because of the nepotism of ownership/management and that is not uncommon - musk merging the loser grok with spacex to get a liquidity event and rolling Tesla into a deal to purchase computer and these are public/soon to be public companies with a lot more visibility.
The choreography is getting sickening, but having said that, we only are seeing what they release. They wanted us to know that the important cold test is done and will come when it fits their timeline. Otherwise the released video and report would be identical because that would be easy to do.
These video releases of data won’t convince an ev manufacturer to source this battery, only their confidential data shared under tight nda might be enough to start testing/producing it in vehicles. The only thing I can think of is primarily as a marketing endeavor for the verge motorcycle because and from the sales increases I have heard it has worked beautifully!
