Gravity 3.5.1

I hate CarPlay and think it has no place in vehicles of this price point when they now have native apps and connectivity integrated directly into the car. So i'm hoping when people see how outdated it looks and with its big ass icons people may turn to the dark side and just use the native UI. Very wishful thinking on my part though :p
Very wishful thinking. I love CarPlay and so most people I know do as well, as it makes the interface consistent across every car that operates it. Also love Waze and I don’t know of any auto mfg that offers that as a standalone app, but CarPlay does. My hope is that more cars offer CarPlay Ultra, especially higher end ones, as those cars would get my consideration to purchase over any others when all things are similar.

Of course everyone’s opinion is different and I certainly respect yours and others that don’t like CarPlay. 🙂

Still no update for me…wondering how long the roll out will take. Thank you

Has any one located the Remote Start icon on the app? I'm on the correct version of the app 2.14.0

Thanks, the icon does not appear on mine! I will delete the app and restore and see if that solves the problem

I just was notified that 3.5.1 is available for installation and started the update.

Estimated 1:10 update time.

I figured it best to start a new thread separate from the anticipation thread.
I was also notified that it is available however, when I go to My settings, it says that I’m up-to-date, 3.4.4. I guess I haven’t been one of the chosen ones yet.

.Turning off DD with the brake or cancel button gives you a little pause before the heavy regen so you can put your foot down to adjust the speed.
Maybe as a learned response from my earlier EVs, I just ease onto the accelerator to increase the car's speed slightly before turning off autopilot/cruise control/FSD/TACC/DDPro. Then there's no gap.

Vehicles from about a dozen manufacturers support Waze natively, as well as Google Maps, Plugshare, ABRP, Apple Music, Youtube Music, etc.
Any car which has a Google app store does this. There are a lot of them.

Another android auto user here. My update took <40 min to install (I have the Gravity connected to the home wifi.)
  • Remote start with the phone has been working great. Now I just carry my phone, and a valet card as backup for cellular dead spots. I'll be able to remove the key fob from my profile and give it to my wife.
  • Android auto has generally worked well. Acceptable frame rate; can use Google maps or waze. I'm happy with the integration with the car's native displays; it shows my next turn and what media is playing, same as when using the car's native apps.
  • Phone audio is fine, based on just a couple of calls. My hard-of-hearing relatives could understand me.
Overall, great job Lucid! 9/10.

Now on to the hiccups:
  • I'm really noticing how much worse my phone's cellular modem is relative to the car. IHeartRadio within andoird auto is constantly stopping and starting
  • Music sound quality varies. At its best it's good, as good as one can hope for with the base sound system. At its worst I"m hearing compression artifacts for some streams. I suspect this is because of the above (bad phone signal -> low bitrate -> bad quality.)
  • Homelink UI and android auto don't play well with each other
And my biggest beef:
  • There's something sketchy with the android auto startup process. When I start the car in my garage, most of the time android auto boots with a completely black screen. it's still there... I can do Gemini voice commands, and if I manager to start IHreatRadio with a voice command, it displays against an otherwise black background.
  • It works flawlessly when I start the car in other places with good cell signal
  • Once I figure out the params around repro I'll send Lucid an email

There's only like two or three EVs that have that feature. Don't blame Lucid. They never advertised or promised it. Would it have been nice? Sure! But calling it a fail? Not warranted...
For long distance driving it is unusable without charging routes, therefore it's functionally a fail.

Everyone is talking about CarPlay. How does Android Auto look on it? Any Android user?
Maps look great, so long as you don't need charging routes. Music controls are great. Bit disappointing with the overall UX integration, the dash glass is so beautiful and yet the purple haze and AA really clash. They need to do something about wallpaper control in front of driver dash... it looks very disjointed and esthetically looks like a bunch of software stitched together

Do you have a 'Wallpaper' option, because I don't? :(

The only option I have is to use a wallpaper from my phone. So, the only way I found to have a black background on my screen is to set a black image as a background on my phone and then turn on "Use phone's wallpaper". But yeah, it's an AA-related issue.
Agree, AA has always been behind in UX - Better than the awful purple haze!

Has anyone been able to get Gemini to work as the digital assistant within Android Auto (AA) instead of the traditional digital assistant which doesn't chat?
I have Gemini set as the default digital assistant on my phone, but it's not carrying over to AA.

Gemini suggested I disconnect from the car and restart the phone; no change.
Now Gemini says it's possible Google just hasn't pushed the change to AA in my car.

Crap, after upgrading to 3.5.1, my Gravity no longer recognizes my keyfob. Has anyone else experienced this?
Rebooted twice.

Edit: new battery solved it, sorry. The previous battery was only 3 weeks old!

I pressed the microphone button on the steering wheel when AA was running and Gemini came up, even if I said "hey Lucid"
