I just was notified that 3.5.1 is available for installation and started the update.

Estimated 1:10 update time.

I figured it best to start a new thread separate from the anticipation thread.

Installing here as I type.
 
I knew it was coming today because my usually well behaved Gravity went berserk from the first drive in the morning, tons of random software glitches and lost network connection despite showing all signal bars. It felt imminent update coming and refuses to accept it, acting as a wild beast. I swear, all the recent improvements just went out the window the same day the next update is released, how’s that for coincidence?

I just received my notice for the update, which was a lot faster than when the last version was initiated. Maybe they’re rolling it out faster.

Do the EV routing features work for Google Maps when in Android Auto/CarPlay? Or did Lucid not expose BMS data?
 
Update downloaded and CarPlay looks pretty good. However, it seems like it doesn’t actually integrate with the car or did I just not do it correctly? I know on the Mach-E it will show arrival percentage, auto route you to charger sit needed, etc. seems this update doesn’t do that though?

The automaker needs to expose this data to the phone for EV routing features to work. Sounds like Lucid didn't do it.

They can still add it in future updates. Does the system react when you toggle the lights on / off?

No. Lucid has not advertised this feature. My Taycan was the first EV that did it and it was awesome, but I've never read or heard anything indicating that level of integration with Apple was coming to Gravity. It's just supposed to allow normal Carplay functionality

I've installed 3.5.1, first impressions:
  • Gravity downloaded ~5.3GB from AWS before I was prompted to install
  • My upgrade took ~55 minutes
  • CarPlay worked smoothly. I deleted my iPhone from Gravity and Gravity from my iPhone and when I reconnected my iPhone I was prompted to enable CarPlay.
  • Having Apple Podcasts and iMessage easily accessible is very nice. I am definitely going to make use of this on roadtrips.
  • I called my wife and she said voice quality was good
  • No spurious errors on Gravity startup so far
  • No key fob update was included
  • Driver door handle appears to have presented faster. It was out as I rounded the car and that has not been the case previously.
  • Switching screens felt more responsive
  • I did not notice any HUD improvements
  • No complaints so far, this feels like a solid improvement
 
The Air doesn't do it. Not sure why we would assume Gravity would. But all good!

And they all get a fail from me as well honestly. BMW and Ford both did it and it's just lazy on any manufacturers part to not implement this.

I'm picturing the Gravity bucking like a crazed horse. With the right software, maybe it can be made to hop like one of those low riders displayed at car shows. Not sure if single or three chambered air suspension is better for that. :p
