Cccv2 upgrade

It is different, because they can simply write off material costs as marketing/incentive spend; nobody needs to get paid. For labor, they cannot simply write it off; *someone* needs to pay the labor, which means they have to figure out how to account for it. I’m not a CFO, but I know this is true from having run my own company in the past and having had similar issues, albeit not in automotive.

On the positive side, once they do you’ll likely find more of these in the rewards store as the reconciliation will already be set up. But they do have to figure out the labor piece first.
Sorry @borski, but we can't always be giving Lucid a 'by' on everything just because there's a little complication involved, and I don't agree that there even is in this case. The labor component that works in the $$$ Store should be treated the same in the Referral Store, and the treatment of the materials side is what it is. Even if it's different, how complicated do you think the accounting is? That might have justified a few days delay, but a month? Besides, even if it were more complicated, they could at least let us get in the queue before the next points expiration, and let the order sit unfilled until their accountant buys some batteries for his calculator. :-)

I think the problem is that the CCV2 upgrade involves both hardware and labor for the install. Everything in the rewards store currently is stuff that requires no labor. My guess is that labor was not thought of when the rewards store was created and Lucid is now trying to figure out the internal accounting to make this happen. I think that it is more difficult than just listing it in the rewards store.
Good point. Labor is the majority of the cost of the upgrade. Took the tech 3 hours to complete my job. Hardware is $250.

Picked up my 2022 AGT yesterday after the upgrade. Yes you have to go through all of the information as though you picked up the car for the first time. Passwords, Homelink, Facial recognition, Tidal link, wifi password, all of it. And yes seems a little quicker especially navigation. Hardware $700, labor $250.

You're right. I read it wrong. Glad it's Friday. I almost have an excuse. Resetting Homelink was a particular pain in the arse. 😫

I’m not. I said it was different. Not that it was impossible or that it should take this long.

But I stand by my theory.

I'd like to at least see the part itself in the rewards store, and then pay the labor out-of-pocket.

Do we have positive confirmation on either cutoff production month or an outside method of connfirming V1 vs V2 in a car? I’ve seen one post claiming the WiFi AP of ‘LUCID’ vs ‘ANDROID’ but didn’t seem to be corroborated.

My air pure was manufactured in April 2024 and it has the v2 hardware - confirmed by Houston service center. That is one of the earliest I know.

Mine is May 24, and WiFi AP is LUCID if that actually is a real indicator
It is. You can just trust me on that one. I’ve had both the v1 and v2 CCC, and have confirmed this with others.

There are other ways to tell, but all are more annoying and cumbersome. (Or you can always ask service)

I got cccv2 upgrade last month. Honestly, i don't see much of a difference. My car was manufactured March 2024, so i can say April is definitely the month for v2 upgrade. One simple difference that can help identify v1 from v2 for those with Tidal is v2 has an option for " master" which wasn't in the v1.

As far as a noticeable difference in speed, i can't find it. My v1 was pretty snappy. Everything opened up quickly before the upgrade and everything worked well from Android Auto to maps. Switching between menus was pretty quick before and after.

On a side note, I did get to try the 19" wheels on a new Touring with 1k miles. I have no idea what you guys are taking about with 19s being better. The 20s feel so much better and have a very quiet and composed ride compared to the 19s. However, i did notice i could get 4+ miles per KW compared to 3.x on my car with very calm driving. I'll happily trade the range for grip and feel. I'm sure it's the tires more than wheels though.

I know they’re looking and they’ll do it. However, it’s very frustrating as an owner to constantly wait on Lucid’s promises and them delaying and making us lose trust and patience.
I agree it’s frustrating from a consumer standpoint. No one likes these delays - not even Lucid employees.

None of us knows what it actually takes to roll out a new item in the rewards store. What may look simple from the outside may require a complex dance between many groups within Lucid, and all that takes time.

For example, how long does it take to decide on where to go for dinner and to actually sit down and have a pleasant meal for a party of one - just you? Now get your entire extended family together and do the same. Grandparents, parents, spouse, kids, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, everyone’s kids.

I’ll be lucky if we can pick a date within a week, schedule dinner within a month, have 80% show up, and not have an argument flare up. I can guarantee someone will complain with, “why did we pick this restaurant - it’s bad/expensive/cheap/loud/boring - how hard can it be?”

Scaling and operational efficiency is one of the key challenges for companies and is particularly challenging for growing companies. Process that work when you are small start to fail as you grow.

I’m not trying to give Lucid a pass for their operational inefficiencies. They should and need to do better, and I hope there is someone within Lucid taking in the customer feedback. At the same time, let’s recognize it’s not easy and enjoy the meal - even if it takes a while to come.

In you example its your money and your guests. Here its investors money and owners loosing trust.

For everything there is a reason and cause, but overcoming those is what makes things best like how they Build Air and Gravity. But everything else which are way easier to figure out were the problem is Lucid, which make me believe they dont care what owners think. I personally know few in Lucid and acknowledge Lucid dont pay much attention on things what owners like. When Nick said it is coming to reward store, they should do homework before talking something out not the other way. This is not first time they are doing this and they are doing the same always. Hoping this changes with what they say from March 12 and its not another dog and pony show.

Lot of it has to do with the fact that most EV luxury buyers- aka Rivian, Lucid, Tesla customers- are not very forgiving. They run to social media and forums to post every negative experience. I've had worse experiences with traditional manufacturers. But I never posted on social media until I bought a Lucid. The customer clientele is very chatty when things don't go the way they like. Some are genuine concerns, but I've seen thses issues with other manufacturers without a peep on social media or forums.

Most complaints are simple issues, you can either get frustrated or just get on with your life and accept nothing is perfect!

This is what Lucid had to deal with:

1. Hate from Tesla investors and Muskites
2. COVID
3. Supply chain issues during COVID
4. High interest rates
5. Inflation
6. Biden IRA bill- introduced caps on vehicle costs
7. Trump got rid of all incentives
8. Loss of carbon credits
9. EV negativity
10. Tariffs
11. Middle East war

So I would say that they have done pretty well, getting the Gravity out and the progress they seem to be making on the midsize.

Anyone who invested in EV's during the hype days need to have their head examined...including me! The market value during those days was X10 reality. I fell for it too!

Give credit when its due, and clearly, Lucid management, though not perfect like any other company in this world, they have done very well considering the circumstances.

I can guarantee you they care very much what owners think.

What you are seeing is a process taking time, not a lack of interest or desire in doing what is helpful for owners.

To be clear: Nick didn’t provide a deadline for when it would be in the rewards store, to my knowledge, and given this is the first item with labor to be added, it would appear they have to figure some things out first. I would bet (@socktucker ?) that they aren’t sitting idle on their hands with this as just item #17 on the task list.

They could have waited before saying anything, and then people would be upset nobody is listening to owners and adding it to the rewards store (which, as a reminder, is not something they actually have to do - not all things are in the rewards store). So Nick said they are adding it, and now people are upset it’s not there yet.

I understand the frustration and impatience, but it is impossible to both announce what you’re going to do and to simultaneously have already done it, unless you simply don’t announce what you’re going to do. You cannot have it both ways.

Perhaps they announced this one too early. Okay, that would be a learning to adjust from; get the infra in place first. But, imho, it’s still better than saying nothing.

I do think it would be worth providing an update, but I’m not sure that would help the folks on this thread feel any better, actually, unless that update were “it’s in the store now.” Am I wrong?

I’m trying to quit
I am almost in the same boat, i am waiting for March 12th and wait 6more moths for Lucid to make some progress what they say. If it didnt happen, i will move on. Betrayed by Tesla and i moved on to Lucid. I am wising its should not be same but Lucid is at 85% of the meter now.

So did Rivian and look where they are compared to Lucid 🤷‍♂️

I mean I’m trying to quit making internet bets.

I’m already done with Lucid just doing the paperwork I hope.
