Unable To Place Order For Gravity (2027 Model Coming?)

When Air Touring, Grand Touring had their options set, people were complaining that they need more options. Now, when Lucid listened and provided, people still complaining about that. Oh Well!
Welcome to the Internet in America.

Kudos to Lucid for making a decision that benefits their customers. Once you determine an improvement, take the necessary steps to implement that improvement. Internal improvements and those from parts suppliers.

Whoever supplies Lucid with the center console tray, needs to improve that part and Lucid needs to stay on them about it. Just one of several examples.

There's a reason there are generations of cars/parts.

What’s annoying is that nothing is posted on the company’s website that new orders have been delayed. I shouldn’t have to come to this forum to find a FB post from the head of IR to learn this information. Instead, I spent 15 min looking for an order button that I swore I saw dozens of times over the last several weeks/months.

What’s interesting is the Gravity is available to order in other countries.

There's no indication that the delivery hold and not being able to place an order right now are related though.

In the past they've only shutdown orders when either there's too much inventory or they're prepping for a new model year. While historically they've made model updates in the summer, it's very possible that this could change with the Gravity.

I’m just saying they should note that they are putting the ability to place new custom-built orders on hold. It says available cars or design your own. One of these options no longer exists.

To be clear, it’s completely fine (at least for me) to pause for any reason. It’s the lack of communication, which is a common theme with Lucid.

Guess history does repeat itself.

I don’t even need a reason. Just simply that you can’t order at the moment would be sufficient so I’m not looking around the entire website like an idiot looking for an order button that no longer exists.

Okay, I’m done venting now.

My salesperson says they are. I received word last week my inventory car order was on indefinite hold for a 2nd row seat issue. I told him to put it back in inventory and I would go out and order one from the configurator. He said they have removed the ability to place a new order for the same reason. Sounds like this is not a "fix", but a replacement of the 2nd row seat. 🤷‍♂️ Very familiar with these issues... I ordered my first Tesla Model S back in early 2013 and it was delayed for issues like this. Then I ordered my wife's first Model X in late 2015, and it was delayed many months for issues with the falcon wing doors. These are "early adopter issues" and are to be expected!

Lucid's sales staff is notorious for giving out misinformation or just telling people what they think you want to hear so I wouldn't take that as a given that it's true.

Think of it as Siri with Apple. They say it is coming, but it being delayed is rarely discussed - Public Relations would never approve telling potential customers that there are problems so big they had to stop production.

Besides, that's why forums like this exist - what would we do if we couldn't solve the problems of Lucid ourselves? 😁

That's why Lucid pays us the ... nevermind.

That is interesting, another indication the order pause isn’t just or at all seat related.
Maybe, maybe not. The logistics of getting vehicles to other countries is presumably more drawn out, and they may well have decided that pipeline is long enough that they can absorb the delay in delivering to those countries without problems.

Again, relying on FB for updates but in case folks haven’t seen.

Interestingly, I had mobile look at my second row seat today. I was subsequently schedule for a service center visit, and told the seats would be replaced. I was also told the seats are on back order until end of April.

After your post yesterday, I reach out to my salesperson and was given this same information. He's guessing the inventory car we purchased should arrive in Denver from California around March 17-20 (maybe earlier). He was disappointed I saw this online as he wanted to share the "good news" with me first!
