Scheduled charging bug

Since Gravity doesn't have a finish charging at a scheduled time for each day of the week like my 2014 Chevy Spark, here is my workaround:
1. Calm down, don't be pissed, Lucid will fix this compromise.
2. Plug in car and start charging.
3. Note the time remaining to charge to the set point.
4. Subtract the time remaining from the time I want to leave in the morning and add about 5 minutes.
5. Stop the charging.
6. Put the time calculated in 4 into the scheduled start time.
7. Calm down, be happy in the knowledge that if you haven't made any mistakes the car will be all charged and warmed up for you in the morning.
8. Do this all over again tomorrow.
I don’t understand. What is your peak time?
I don't understand either. My cheapest charge time starts at 11pm, so I start charging then. It's always done before my rates go back up the next day. Both cars, which have staggered start times to get max output to each car, one at a time. (Tesla wall chargers will talk to each other if necessary to share load)

Now, temperature, I get. My wife's Polestar turns on the climate control on Tuesday mornings so that her car temp is just right before she heads out to deliver Meals on Wheels. Climate control scheduling - now, THAT I like...

Curious if other people have run into this bug. I set up my schedule for charging to be 12:00 am, to take advantage of low electricity rates optimized for EVs (for those like me in NorCal, PG&E's rapid rate increases have made EVs much less economical than even 5 years ago). Yet, the car randomly starts charging anyway, once at 5pm and again around 8:20pm, during pretty much the peak hours of the day. Is the car/app just bugged, or am I misconfiguring something?
Try to set up your start time for 12:15 am instead of 12:00 am. This will avoid a "toggle" switch in the software.
More importantly, do not plug your vehicle until AFTER 12:00 pm. The software is set up for 12 hour cycles, and each cycle begins at 12 noon and at 12 midnight.
I wish the software will someday allow an "end time" as well as a "start time". I used to own a Model S, and the Tesla software allows you to set the end time. That way, there is no confusion about which 12-hour cycle you are on. I would thin it is a simple software change, but I have no idea if LCID is working on it.
Another feature I wish LCID had, but Tesla does, is to allow you to set current load (in Amps) manually while charging. I have solar panels in my home, but if I plug my car to charge, it will inevitable draw power from the grid as my panels cannot keep up. Like you, I live in the SDG&E region and we pay the highest electricity rates in the US. If I can use excess power from my panels to slow charge my car, I will avoid paying anything to SDG&E.

Teslas can do that too.

Lucid is definately the worst on any sort of scheduling or charging related functions.

I beg to differ.

My scheduling works great. It reliably starts charging at 11:05pm every night, and happily starts charging immediately if I plug it in after that.

My wife's Genesis GV60 on the other hand, is an absolute crap-shoot. Maybe 30% of the time when you plug it in before the scheduled time, it will actually wait. The rest of the time it starts charging immediately instead of waiting until the scheduled time. Or it just doesn't start at the scheduled time.

Then, half the time if you plug it in even a shortly after the scheduled time, it will not charge at all until the next scheduled time.

Every day is a guessing game as to which behavior we will see.

FWIW, you can automate this with Home Assistant.

Suffering from similar issues. I got caught a few times with an empty battery and forced to charge at much more expensive rates so I can get to where I'm going, instead of charging at the super off peak rate overnight.

Here's my setup:
1. Tesla universal wall connector, scheduled to begin charging at 2:30 am
2. Air Touring scheduled to begin charging at 3:30 am

The reason I have it setup that way is to know for certain that the Tesla wall connector will be definitely turned on before the car attempts to charge.

Here's what happens every evening:
1. I plug the charger into the car
2. The car attempts to begin charging immediately, even though it's programmed to not begin charging until 3:30 am
3. The car's charging indicator turns red (because the Tesla charger is set to only allowing charging after 2:30 am)
4. I unplug and re-plug the charging cable
5. This time the car doesn't attempt to charge, and the charging indicator is solid white
6. Wake up the next morning to find the car either charged (30% of the time) or not charged (70% of the time)

When I open the Lucid app to check whether the car charged or not, that ends up waking up the car and triggering the charging process, in the 70% of the time that the car did not charge overnight.

It's very frustrating. Hard to believe such a simple concept cannot be executed properly by Lucid.
Hi Sherifhana,
I see the same experience because I use a Tesla Wall charger, given my Tesla solar app and solar storage banks. So I use an adapter to connect the NACS Tesla handle to the Lucid CCS port. It's a nagging procedure as upon plugging in the Tesla handle to the Lucid charging port, you get a red signal and a message on the console about not being able to start charging. If you do nothing, the charge will not occur. You have to unplug and then reconnect the Tesla wall connector handle. The charging session set for midnight at my location usually works, but occasionally fails. I wondered if I might be the only person experiencing this issue with a Tesla wall charger.

Anyone having trouble since 3.4.1? First time charging at home since the update and I'm receiving charging errors again. I've got scheduled charging off on the gravity and on at the chargepoint. Ugh

I’ll have to join the other Air users on here with scheduled charging troubles. I have a wall charger that’s needs to be activated (or scheduled) in an app and that works without issues for immediate charging.

Several times now I’ve attempted scheduled charging and it just doesn’t start. The charger is set to be on or ready beforehand but the car just doesn’t wake up at the scheduled time.

If I manually open the app it starts immediately because it’s in the 12h time window I guess.
I confirmed the car showed “charging scheduled” before locking it for the night.

My low cost period is 12am-6am, I could of course try 12:05 or the like but the issue seems to be automatically waking the car. I might attempt something with HomeAssistant to force it to wake after midnight if this just doesn’t work.

I concur that other manufacturers have this implemented much more robust and straight forward, eg my wife’s BMW i3

For me it seems to be intermittent. I charged for a full charge the other night ahead of a long drive and it worked without issue in my TOU (12-8am). I didn't unplug it the next evening and it gave me a charging error the next morning.

You CAN set the charge current in the car and app both Gravity and Air?

I have seen this since 3.4.1 on the Gravity, it will start automatically but it needs to be nudged. It's not waking up automatically to start charging at my scheduled time. If I open the app and wake the car it starts. Seems some component of the standby system isn't on for charging when it's asleep.

I encountered the same thing last night in my Gravity at 3.4.0
Can be bad if you are expecting that your Gravity be fully charged when you leave in the morning.
Bug needs to be fixed.

One thing to note on the air that worked for me is to use air side scheduling and turn off the chargepoint charger scheduling. This seemed to consistently work- let me know if you want me to DM you to walk through the steps on chargepoint (if that's what you have)

Has anyone tried leaving the car plugged in for two days or more?
Does it start charging at midnight on the second day?
If not, then the bug is much worse.

Sometimes does sometimes doesn't. I can't figure out it. Not sure if it's because I use a chargepoint charger or if there is genuinely a problem with this car. Hoping a software update helps. Otherwise I'll just deal the with extra few hours of higher electricity. Frustrating and unfortunately it's probably such a niche issue that lucid likely won't prioritize.

Quick update- was able to charge on time starting at midnight on supply side scheduling, only caveat is I opened the app at midnight so unclear if that woke up the car to start charging?

Aaaand error again. No rhyme or reason why. I literally just left it plugged in for 3 days. 1st day error 2md day charge 3rd day error

Adding my situation to the litany of complaints here. ChargePoint charger, time of use/TOU schedule (in California, so rates are usurious during the day and merely the second highest in the nation at night), charger synched to my TOU schedule (lower rates from midnight on), car scheduled to start charging at 12:05 am.

Sometimes it works, usually it doesn't. I'll check the car on the app in the morning, which finally causes it to wake from its slumber (after 2-3 minutes of waiting) and start charging.

If I turn scheduled charging off in the Lucid, it errors out when I plug it in before going to bed because the charger isn't providing power--result, no charge.
With the charger set to turn on at midnight and Lucid set to charge at 12:05 am, 70% of the time it never wakes up--result, no charge.
We have a second EV (Volvo S60 Recharge) that does not have scheduled charging but charges 100% of the time when it is plugged in overnight and the charger starts at its scheduled time.

The reason I don't turn off the charger schedule and just use the Lucid onboard schedule is that we charge the Volvo overnight 9 nights out of 10 (15 kWh battery).

I don't understand why the Lucid can't just wake up at a scheduled time, like a $25 coffee maker or a $10 thermostat (though I confess I have the same problem some mornings). Am I to understand that the wake up signal has to come over the air from some Lucid server in the cloud? If so, that's just about the dumbest implementation I can possibly imagine.

I guess the Gravity doesn’t understand daylight savings time. Car started charging at 1am, instead of the set time of 12am.

Quick update on my situation. Seems that with 3.4.4 I haven't had any issues with scheduled charging. 3 days in a row it was able to start and stop at the appropriate time. Will update as I try different configurations, but in this case I plugged it in at about 35% charge and it wrapped up in a night. The next day it was still plugged in, tried to start at the appropriate time but the car was fully at 80% so no charge. The next day I increased the set point to 90%, it started on time and finished one 90 hour. Following day I increased set point to 100% and no issue starting. Hopefully it stays stable in 3.5!
