I just received the strangest (non-robust) email from Lucid today, and my friend who leased around the same time got the same thing:

"Hello,

Lucid Motors has invited you to participate in a sourcing event: Lucid Motors | Updated Terms & Conditions on Levelpath. Please follow the directions below to access the event and respond.

Dear Supplier,

Lucid USA Inc. is implementing an update to our standard payment terms in order to maintain industry best practices and ensure consistency across our supplier base. As part of this transition, all suppliers will move to End of Month, Net 60 (EOM + 60) payment terms. You are receiving this notice because your current terms fall below Net 60.

If you have questions, please reach out directly to your Lucid Motors contact."

Of course sales has no idea, and it seems to be geared towards Lucid suppliers, not customers, so I just have to chuckle as I walk to my car and it unlocks because I don't want it to unlock....

Happy Lucid-giving all!

Also this would point to a cash flow issues at the company, not really a surprise...
This is commnn for many companies and in no way indicates a cash flow problem at Lucid.

So maybe they have been sending procurement emails to customers and OTAs to vendors??? That would explain a lot! 😂

Actually, I think the Procurement Division getting net 60 (EOM + 60) payment terms is pretty sweet for a company the size of Lucid. Maybe the execs should put the Procurement Division in charge of a few other Divisions. :-)

That would explain why I've seen the guy delivering toilet paper to the Casa Grande facility stand behind his truck twisting his phone while he waits for the back door to slide up.

I don't think it's a good idea to post this here; but the same case could be made for some other things that get posted here. I guess it's the brave new world.

It's really not a good idea to send this out to non-vendors. If at vendor had posted it I'd agree with you 100%. But since this was sent to (multiple) customers, I see no issue with posting it. Don't want it posted online - be more careful with how its released.

It’s the equivalent of receiving something in the mail that was not intended for you.

It demonstrates a lack of operational acumen and control over their business practices. It amazes me that anyone could defend sending this to multiple customers. Having said that I’ll ignore it and enjoy my Thanksgiving but it does concern me about this company that I really do want to succeed.

Nobody is defending it. But 'emails to the wrong person' have been sent countless times before, many by companies that you know very well today.

It happens all the time.

Oh because no one has ever done it before…

To quote the HAL 9000, this can all be attributed to Human Error. My brief search found thousands of similar situations.

I guess I should publish it if your sensitive information get sent to me by mistake. I am surprised by the reaction here, but I guess we work on different standards.
