Whatsup, I’m close to purchasing a 2024 sapphire with 1600 miles for 200k flat
I’m also seeing a dream edition preowned for like 85k with low miles
I’m wondering if any dream edition owners or gtp owners ever driven a sapphire and can give a review of the differences and also would like to know others opinions on how they feel the sapphire will hold or not hold value
I’m getting kind of butterflies about it, because now that it’s close to pull the trigger I’m a little concerned about value. The dealer is saying this will hold value because it is a super car and very limited. But I’m also thinking that so was the dream edition and the gtp and those dropped alot

Things that I personally love about the sapphire is everything lol, from the color, to the rims, the fender flares, the interior, the speed
I’m just afraid that if next summer I start seeing them for like 140k
Ps I had two grand touring already and love them

I'm pretty sure the Sapphire has significant changes to its body (materials) and underpinnings. The DE is more of a goosed up version of the standard Air trims. I don't think there is much of a comparison, to be honest. I'd go Sapphire all the way if you can swing it.

Cool thank u for ur input, what is ur opinion on how the value will hold compared to the other trims including dream editions

Considering how new everything is, I don’t know if anyone can answer that. They are both unique for different reasons. But even modern new super cars can plummet after a few years. Hard to say.

As a pure enthusiast I would go Sapphire if money is no issue.

Drop like a heavy rock!

Given you already own 2 Grand Touring, looks like the Sapphire is calling your name. I wouldn't think the Sapphire will drop in price heavy like the other Air models, but no one really knows. I wish I was making this "tough" of a decision. ;)

If I were on the market to drop 200k on a car I don’t think I’d worry much about resale value. The sapphire is unique. Sapphire all the way!

Part of the reason EV prices have dropped precipitously is the advancement of technology and capabilities. The next iteration of any vehicle will likely be a significant improvement over prior versions. While the Sapphire is certainly unique, I don’t think it’s immune to this phenomenon. Elon once proclaimed that Tesla’s would not depreciate and we see how that’s worked out. The curve might not be as steep with the Sapphire, but it looks like it’s already lost about $50K of its value. There’s no reason to believe that won’t continue. But on the other hand you can now buy it at a discount.

I love my DE but the Sapphire is on another level. There is nothing I’d miss except the glass roof.

Outside the Sapphire, you couldn’t pry my Air from my cold hands; there isn’t a better car out there today, imho. If there were, though, I’d probably buy it!

Despite everyone’s assumptions here, I’m not wed to Lucid; they just produce the best cars out there today, imho.

Got it, for me I usually would want the glsss roof and love the look of it, and I would only
Buy it with that glass option . HOWEVER, Since it’s the only
Option for the sapphire, that’s the only option I would select for the sapphire even if I had a choice, my kids were bothered by the sun even with the shade, and in the name of weight reduction I am glad to get the aluminum roof option for sapphire

How does someone say with a straight face that the Sapphire will hold its value when they are selling it for $50k less than when it was new? Taycan Turbo GT, Plaid, Sapphire - they will all depreciate like rocks because the march of technology never ends. Maybe it drops at a slightly slower pace, but it isn’t going to be an investment or collectible.

just want to know what u guys would think is better, brand new 2026 with full warranty, or a 2024 with 1600 miles and 28 months left on full warranty for 200k , I know some people want to say something slick or stupid like “if u can afford it why do u really care” or x y and z, i just want to know what route some of u would go

Bank account check and if Sapphire checks the boxes. I would pay $50k for the two year newer 'high tech' car. I mean, at the end, no regrets right. On the other side, if you can pocket at least $50k and the 2024 with a little bit of miles is good enough - go for it and buy a real nice something along for $50k. Sapphire is the pinnacle right now and exclusive.
