Lucid Winter Wheel Package

Those Nokians are a great serious winter option and even have the ice grip rating; just be careful to note the 20" size are only speed rated R (106mph) and the 21" are rated T (118mph) whereas other brands like Vredestein Wintrac Pro+ are rated Y (186mph) like the OEM Hankook A/S (which are not even 3PMSF snow rated tires! )

Unless you live in Germany I'm not generally worried about speed rating on my snow tires. Good call out though

I can’t give you a guaranteed option until I test fit on my car but I can certainly give you my current research.

I have settled on the 22” wheel size due to availability of tires.

Option 1: Tesla Model X plain turbine wheels ($5500 option at sale time but much cheaper on eBay) - 22x9 front and 22x10 rear. Same exact wheel hub bore and bolt pattern, a direct fit. 36lb front and 42lb rear. Weight capacity unknown.

Option 2: Range Rover SVR forged wheels: 950kg capacity, 22x10 square setup. Wheel weight unknown, offset 42.5 which may require a 5mm spacer up front. Bolt pattern is the same, center ring will be required for proper fitment.

I am investing in option 1, with option 2 as a backup.

I am in New York if you wanted to stop by and test fit a wheel.

Good chance I will have a Gravity of my own within the month if not 2 weeks.

Oh I feel ya...I just posted that for those that like me or @TahoeMichael, take drives out of the icy cold down to the warmer lower elevations or vice versa in say, CA in winter and in this 828hp beast might tempted to approach higher speeds on some downhill dry straight away or whatnot and should pay attention to the reduced speed ratings (and.... would actually do better with a 3PMSF rated A/S tire like Michelin Cross Climate 2 or Vred Quatrac Pro+ which have higher speed ratings)

Anu update on the Tesla wheels?

I got the car and decided against using Tesla wheels, I looked at earlier Model X reviews where vehicle weight was 5500lb, newer Model X got weight down to around 5k which means the wheels are probably rated for that much less weight. With a 1k weight delta I decided not to test it and now have a set of X plaid wheels for sale, went with another wheel rated for 2200lb which will probably get installed this Saturday with Michelin All Season 4.

FYI, I received my Lucid Gravity X imitation wheels from Forza Performance in the 20/21 sizes, they have a 1000kg weight rating and everything went smoothly, and the wheels look great. I will share photos once I have tires mounted on them and get them installed in the next couple weeks. They are forged and were $3142 including shipping. The set of Michelin Cross Climate tires installed will be another $2k.

Shoot, no I didn't weigh them. Not sure it's much value to weigh the stock wheels with tires on them, but I can once I get the new ones mounted. I'll see if I can get a weight for the new ones as well.

I will weigh the stock 20/21 this weekend if no one else does, subtracting tire weight is pretty easy and good info for when messing with wheels and tires.
