Lucid Gravity update 3.3.5 + fob update

It is probably too early to post this but here goes. I’ve had my GDE for a few months now (sill plate #19, not sure what that signifies but maybe early production?) and had all the issues that have been discussed in this forum; fob not recognized, FDU failure, locked out of car, black screens, constant warnings and fault notifications. Lucid service has been great fixing things that they could fix. As of today, software fully up to date with 3.3.5, fob firmware fully updated at SC, and center console replaced. I hope I’m not jinxing myself but it is like I have a different car. Fob has worked perfectly, no warnings or fault notifications, all the buttons and screen navigation have worked flawlessly, and the nav maps are stable (no wild swinging around). I think the center console replacement is a big source of the improvement. Car feels solid and dependable but time will tell. I expect there will be software quirks occasionally but right now, this is the car I expected when it was first delivered.

The Gravity is still a great car. I have a loaner AGT, and previously owned a TM3 and test drove MX - there is no comparison to the ride quality and driving feel of the Gravity.

Lucid employees, if you are listening ..... folks get beat up a lot but the core product is good - ... cant wait for other quick fixes here.

That’s great to hear. Keep us posted over the next several days. I’m taking delivery next week, hopefully they’ll be addressing some of these known issues and updates.

I think the center consoles were incorrectly assembled in the earlier production vehicles and I know Lucid has been aware of this for awhile. I’d be shocked if customers taking delivery from now on have the same problems many of us early birds had/have.

My car continues to surprise me with new Easter Eggs, today the music app got completely disabled, touching the music icon on either screen does nothing, like it's not even there.
Even hard reboot did not bring it back. Phone is connected via Bluetooth and calls work, but can't play media and not able to select any audio sources.
On a separate occasion, when making a hard U-turn it started beeping due to proximity to an obstacle, but then never stopped beeping for the rest of the drive, until parked.
Dropping it off next week at the SC to fix the DreamDrive and update the fob.

OMG! So glad to read your update @BiruBoy11 !!

Could it be that 3.3.5 is the fix that killed the keyfob gremlins?

Is there a sure way for new owners to tell if their center console is “fixed” ?

The center console problems involved a crushed coax cable that is supposed to snake around the cupholders. Service tech told me that when the consoles were fitted, some of the cupholders compressed the coax cable because it wasn't positioned correctly, impacting functionality in varying degrees depending on cable impact severity. I was told that the crushed cable directly affected the NFC card reader and the wireless charging pad, both of which are toward the stern end of the console tray. Judging by my experience after the console 'replacement,' it seems that this compromised coax cable may have had secondary effects on a bunch of other functions, like navigation and false alerts, etc. There is also an antenna under the console tray so anything the antenna was supposed to be used for (like the fob?) may have been degraded. Other than experiencing all these issues, I don't think there is any way to tell if your center console has been fixed but the service techs should let you know if your center console needs to be replaced. They can snake a little camera in there and see if the coax cable has been compromised. At least the techs at my SC did.

As an update, I did get a momentary (lasted maybe 2 seconds) 'key fob not detected' warning this morning. And there are still extremely minor bugs, like the dang cabin lights all come on when I enter the vehicle and need to be turned off through the pilot panel. Otherwise, they stay on which is not a problem unless you are driving when it is dark. There is still bug eradication work that needs to be done but, for me (and hopefully everyone else), this has been a huge improvement.

Does call quality suck for everyone? Man people say I sound terrible.
The few calls I've had in the car I've never had anyone say they can't hear me or the quality is bad. Once, they even clearly heard the person on the Starbucks speaker taking my order and chatting to me. The only thing I did notice once that the volume was off, I had to have it at 100% while on a call and could still hardly hear them. That only happened once though.

Hmm... I'll try again and see. A lot of my phone calls are "data" based. Not sure if that makes a difference. Many times I'm using signal or whatsapp to make a call.

FWIW - SC called today and mentioned that the new swapped NFC / center console is malfunctioning and they will have to replace that too. My cards weren't being recognized at all so it's not clear that NFC / fob issues are totally fixed within assembly ... yet. The issue (atleast for me) is the physical module itself.

It's likely the shorted coax messed up the modules transmitter.

Yes, but to have it happen a second time is a little ridiculous.
Maybe I misread but I think he said they first tried to replace only the damaged part leaving the existing module, so no second time.

With the 3.3.5 update, I have noticed that even without the keyfob update (still waiting for their mobile tech to get back to me), the black/blank infotainment screens on bootup is happening less, and when it does happen the bootup wait is generally faster—10s or less, instead of 20–30s or just getting stuck completely and requiring a soft reboot. Of course it's all anecdotal and it's still a small sample, but if the car is improving on its wake-from-sleep I think that will stabilize a bunch of issues.

That’s my concern as well. I’m hoping my replacement thing is a remote one off incident. It is very unusual for 2 units to fail.

Looks like it might take a few days for the unit to ship out to the SC. I’ll ask when I pick it up.

Yes and no. Sometimes the people on the other end say it sounds great. Other times, they say it sounds horrible. It's hit or miss depending on the day. (And most of this data comes from me talking to my mom on my way home from work--which is on the same stretch of road under the same conditions).

I've noticed that if the AC is on, the other side says they hear wind noise. I turned off the AC, and they told me it sounds normal. I began to wonder if the microphone array needs to do a better job in filtering noise coming from the AC.

Mine has been good from the start. I have even asked folks if they are having any difficulty hearing me and they report no problems. Probably unrelated but I did read an article yesterday that there have been numerous complaints from iPhone 17 users having this problem when using their phone. Not sure what phone you are using.
