i wish i could envy you, but honestly after test drives (yes plural its like a consolation on a stressful day - 4) but i am just happy for you.

actually after writing up some quick python and letting it run for last 3 hrs or so it seems like what inventory has been added so far is added every 2 hrs at the top of hr... but im sure thats not programmatic right? why would you do that programmatically and not do the other method of query comparison....so many questions (ill just go grumble in the corner and rock back and forth to cope...

im out guys, i cant justify clicking F5 any longer, so have a great weekend.

This is exactly how I got my preferred Rivian config from their inventory a while back
 
Another big dump of new cars. None with Tech. Noticed quite a few without delivery charge (I guess that these are still at factory)

Got back visiting my SA, any available with Tech is a cancelation from another owner. Otherwise, they have 20 DE & 8 GGT (1 - Black, 4 - AG, 3 Bronze) that went into Prod this past week.
 
Honestly, I'm finding Nick Twork's comments about what these cars are increasingly unbelievable. They've now had hundreds of cars go through this site with every single option available. Why the hell aren't they making cars people have ordered?

I think you misunderstood my statement. When the site first went live Nick Twork posted on X:

That means you can now skip the wait and drive away in one of our most sought-after models today.

My point is that they seem to have made many more of these than he was implying and at this point it's starting to look like more of these were made than actual customer orders. If it was parts constraints then why are there none that have a particular option missing (other than the HUD being more rare)? Right now there are over 60 cars listed on there, if they'd used the parts on some of those ones with pretty bad specs to fill out specs on other cars they'd have likely filled more orders for people waiting.

Just from looking at the Lucid Flys flyovers and how many cars were in the lots there these have to have been at least half of what they made, I'd guess it's even more honestly.

I have a theory…and let me say in advance that this is clearly only conjecture and I do NOT think it’s nefarious in any way…

Let’s say you are a young company delivering its second model and you’ve promised the world it was going to be a hot seller AND you know you need to raise additional capital in the next 3-4 months…

Do you look better to the investment community with a great backlog of orders AND every additional “orphan” / extra” vehicle produced flying off the shelves or, when you apply all your production capacity to winding down your order backlog? I think the answer is pretty clear…

If that IS what Lucid is doing (i.e. keeping the order backlog fat AND selling lots of extra cars) in advance of a capital raise? Well, I think it’s brilliant. If I need to wait an extra month for my Gravity so that Lucid gets better terms on its next capital raise (thereby increasing its odds for long term survival), so be it…

I think you will see a shift back to delivering almost exclusively ordered cars immediately after 9/30 (if my supposition is correct).

I didn’t misunderstand. There is no reasonable explanation for why they would be selling cars that could go to a reservation holder via other means. Which is how I know they aren’t doing it; these are cars that for some reason cannot be shipped to an existing reservation holder. There are so many variables, including simply *location*; meaning, if a car was built for a customer and they refuse delivery, there may not be another customer *in that locale* to give it to, they may not be prepared, etc.

So they’d sell that one locally, as otherwise they’d have to transport it again (risk, cost), etc.

There’s no conspiracy to keep reservation holders from getting their cars heh. These are odd specs or orphans.

And yet there have been more than one car on the site that exactly match my order. One of them was going to Costa Mesa, exactly where I'm getting mine and it sold before I was able to check out with it. You say there's no reasonable explanation why they would sell those cars that could go to a reservation holder, we agree on that part at least I guess. Where you lose me is stating definitively that they're not doing it.

There are absolutely cars on that site that are matching people's orders that could have gone to them. They using a manual process to match cars to people that aren't their specific batch number/VIN for their order which is just dumb.
