Gravity Bugs / Issues

Sleep “solves” a lot of the bugs and I believe Lucid is working to squash them, but it takes time to to code, QA, etc and nothing is serious enough for a “hot fix” here.

Another odd one is creature comfort, which I use a lot. Car frequently gets stuck on it and I have to open and close driver door a few times to get it to turn off. In the Air, it turns off via a long press on the screen, overly complex, but it works. In R1S and X, it just turns off when you return to the car and push the brake.
I thought I was the only one experiencing that on Creature comfort

Situation in Denver is similar- They rent space at an autobody shop (one long bay, capable of 2 (maybe 3) cars. When we got the Air in 2022, there were so few Lucids in Colorado that it didn't seem like a problem. Now... I am a little concerned, given the increased numbers sold in the area (I think they service Utah as well). And since at least early 2023, various SC and Studio employees have told me that they're going to move to a bigger location real soon.
That's good to hear the service center will be moving to a bigger location.

I've learned that the Mechanicsville location is viewed as a satellite location to support the Tysons Corner location. I'm fine with the role the location serves, but IMO the facility's structure and geographical location is unacceptable as a representation of the Lucid brand. I'm hoping an improvement will occur soon.

They could put one in a sea container under I95 for all I care as long as it were closer to Baltimore. I’m reading all these key fob, center console, and rear drive unit issues and dreading the drive to Tysons.

Be careful what you wish for….although it appears the signage here is better than Mechanicsville. 😂

This is a new somewhat scary development with my GDE. It's no longer "Holding" on hills and at stop lights. I verified the feature is activated in the Driving Dynamics screens but the car either creeps forward or rolls back on hills. This is a safety issue! Additionally the car's driving dynamics shouldn't be changing from day or day or should I say from update to update? My patience is wearing thin. I not only don't trust the vehicle, I'm losing confidence in Lucids ability to solve complex issues and still retain basic safe driving capability. I'm not sure I'm any better off today than when I took delivery in June.

Have you called their customer service line and/or your SC?

No I haven't. I just noticed it happening this morning on my commute in. I'll see if it persists then call it in if it does.....I already have a service appointment for the fob scheduled October 5th.

Yeah report it to them ASAP they need to add that to the service appointment also as they can pull remote logs if you give them the times it happened and investigate so they’ll be prepared ahead for the service appointment. This issue happened to another owner also but I don’t know what the resolution was.

There is something wonky on their software related to these on the Air, too. I wish they had manual brake hold like Mercedes/Tesla (press brake pedal after stopping). The "creep" mode legit just doesn't work as expected in the Air. It will creep once or twice, then never again.

However, I have noticed regen brake settings affects this too. If you are set to roll/creep, with regen on, it will act like brake hold. If you turn regen off, it will roll forwards or backwards. I don't know why they made this choice but its confusing.

So you label this a "Safety Issue!" but your going to wait to see if it persists before you mention it to service. Im assuming then the brakes work and you can hold your position the old fashion way. Sounds more like a nuisance than a safety issue.

I would say that inconsistent brake pedal behavior is a safety issue, yes.

I drive with the regen set to high because I have a lot of stop signs and I like one-footed driving. If I'm not changing the settings on the car it's very important that the driving dynamics stay static so the car behaves the same in all situations.

I just brought back my car from the SC after 4 days to some due bill issues and run the key fob update. I have to say, I am disappointed as some the issues were not fixed.
- The driver and passenger doors make that weird clicking noise when pushed up to unlock. I was told it has to do with door seal and should just wear off over time and that other cars in the SC have the same issue? This doesn’t make sense to me as it only happens in 2 doors. I will try to attach a video.

- Frunk doesn’t open from the first time.
- Passenger side 2nd row seat doesn’t lay completely flat and have to push it down. Not a big deal but they should have fixed it.
The video works fine for me on my laptop.

Hearing the noise, I've gotta say: that ain't right! But I can't say they're wrong about the issue going away as the door seal settles in. Seals have a certain amount of variation, so if their explanation is correct, it's not surprising that it shows up on some doors and not others.

Oh I see.....it's not a safety issue because the brakes still work. My fault entirely for expecting my $140,000 car to stay put on a hill or at a stoplight, because that's what it's programmed to do.

Tried to leave this morning and sure enough my FOB was dead. With no key card reader the vehicle became an expensive brick. Fortunately a battery change rectified the problem. I've now got spare batteries in the glove box just in case. I got absolutely no warning on the display that the battery was low.
I believe there's a video from one of the members here that demonstrates the Air fob can be used as an unpowered key card when its battery is removed. Is that not the case with the Gravity fob, and you really have to have the key card as a backup?

The Gravity fob, I believe, is supposed to work like that, but mine does not. Could look in the manual but too lazy. Luckily, the fob works, so no worries. And I always have the keycard anyway, so it’s all good.

That’s not what I said or at least not what I meant. If I have a safety issue it means the car is unsafe to drive and I park it until it’s fixed or someone gives me a safe workaround. My understanding is that “Hold” is a function of the motor transmission, not the brakes. If the brakes don’t work then yes that’s a safety issue. If “Hold” doesn’t work maybe not so much especially if it’s menu selectable. Is it broke absolutely. Is is I frustrating, you bet. Is it a safety issue, opinions may vary.
