My first impressions after 2 days with the Lucid Gravity Grand Touring

They topped it off to 80% overnight.

Service tech says one of the update modules was the battery management unit.
He's thinking the unit probably lost communication with the car to show no voltage.
That explains the notification I received during my sw update, but doesn't explain the other occurences posted.

I'll inquire more when I pick up my car.
 
I always thought the location of the frunk close button was a good idea from a viewpoint of safety. While highly unlikely, and yet possible, if someone happens to be trapped inside the frunk, that button provides a way out. Somewhat like the latches located in some trunks.

Yes, I guess they probably didn't forget to put the button on the hood. The emergency release button is legally required and they probably decided to save money by using it for both functions. There's already a wiring harness to the hood so it doesn't seem like it would cost much though.
I wonder if they were planning to have foot wave activation... that seems like the best system.

Frankly, the button is not a problem to reach where it is, so I just don't see much of an issue here -- and certainly not something that I would attribute to engineering error or oversight.

As for how defensive I am about Lucid, you have apparently missed the several hundred posts I have put up recently about the major issues we've had with our first Gravity, which is in the shop right now for a new rear drive unit. And I have attributed several of these issues to inspection failures as well as production failures. Just because someone doesn't agree with you about something does not make them a toady or an apologist.

I'm fine with people disagreeing about the best spot for a frunk close button, though I think that putting it the same place the put the lift gate button would make the most sense.
I was annoyed with the "RTFM" crowd when the manual is obviously wrong about the location of the button. There is even a picture of the "interior release button" with no mention of it also being used to close the frunk. Another critique, the interior release button should be glow in the dark with an icon on it (the manual shows it having an icon and being a different color.) I don't think it's farfetched that Lucid cut some corners on the final details of the Gravity to meet their end of 2024 release date.

The service tech thinks that perhaps while the app is waking up the car the app is getting battery info before the car is fully awake.
I do notice that when I open the app, the SOC is briefly in red and then once the car is awake the color of the SOC changes to white.

He also mentioned that they are aware of owners getting the message shake the key fob.
He thinks it's perhaps a case of the key fob now being more sensitive to motion with the greater range, but also more prone to battery drain because of possible increased detection from a greater distance. Lucid is aware of the issue and a tweak might come in the next sw update.
 
I’d like to advocate for chilling out, breathing, taking perspective and expecting folks have positive intent. Also…

Don’t read the manual then, open your eyes and look. It’s not like it’s secretly hidden. Yet the OP couldn’t be bothered to do either. Instead, they come in here whining that something doesn’t exist when it clearly does.

You perfectly sum up something that happens much on this forum. It's as if you can't love something and criticize it. Constructive criticism is actually a great sign of love. Some people can't stand being disagreed with. They'll label you fanboy or what not.

I just think you're being too harsh on OP. It's an unlabeled button, in a non-sensical spot, and it's not where the manual says it should be.
Interestingly the prototype had a label on the button and in a more visible spot (though also not on the front of the hood. Maybe they're referring to a scrapped exterior button?)

That doesn’t make everyone who disagrees with you a fanboi, in the same way it doesn’t make you a hater or whatever other nonsense.

We just disagree. That has to be fine. If not, we have nothing else to talk about.
