Yes, I traded the Air for the Gravity. They wired the money for the trade about 3 or 4 weeks after delivery.

So I assume you were charged tax on the full price on your Gravity? Typically the trade in value can reduce the amount you owe for the new car before taxes are calculated.

My sales tax on Gravity was reduced. It was only charged on the net amount.

I'm not sure this is the case. My vehicle just went into production 5 days ago, and "Apply for Financing" is already enabled on my dashboard. I don't think we could have gone through the entire build process including factory inspection in that time. Has that happened before?

I checked my dashboard and "Apply for Financing" is enabled for me as well. My dashboard changed to "In Production" a week ago. I have no idea whether I'm a month, a week, or a day from delivery. If we're seeing "Apply for Financing" enabled for a lot of people all at once, it may be a general change and not sometime we can intuit delivery timing from. I hope that's not the case and I'm close to delivery, though...

Mine showed up today... I pick up the Dream Edition at 11:30AM... Also the iPhone app is revved up and ready to go. Just waiting for me to be in proximity to finish setting it up and connecting to the actual car.

My SA told me that this doesn't happen until the vehicle has passed all predelivery inspections and only has detailing remaining before delivery. Based on that you should be within 48 hours.

Lucid does not wait for funds to put the car on a transport. I contacted my SA yesterday morning to inquire about our Gravity status and was told the car was arriving at the Miami Service Center today for PDI. I had not yet received any paperwork or request for payment.

It can be unnerving, and I think you have the option of taking a cashier's check to Lucid for your delivery appointment. However, I've already bought two Lucids by making wire transfers ahead of time and am about to do it for the third time. Due to the problems we've had with our first Gravity -- which included skipping some obvious checks during inspection -- I was considering taking a cashier's check to the delivery appointment for our second Gravity and not paying until I checked some things out myself. However, one thing I have learned from almost four years of dealing with Lucid is that Lucid will not leave you in the lurch. It might mean a lot of bother along the way, but they DO make things right. So finally I decided not to bother with a cashier's check and instead sent the wire transfer yesterday afternoon.

I get that. You’ve done it. Great. I wanted to know, as others do, how you felt doing it and it was a “no big deal” thing.

It’s as much of a “no big deal” thing as wiring $120k can be…I mean, that’s a lot of money, but the wiring and receipt piece is easy.

I am getting the vehicle home delivered so funds, I guess, need to be in place and checked off before sending the car off to 'who-knows-where.'

My SA said if I brought a cashiers check I’d have to go out the Oakbrook main headquarters then drive up near Lincoln Park to do the pickup. The time constraints with Amtrak and such don’t allow for all that so just doing the wire transfer. I’m assuming it’s pretty much instantaneous?

Honestly, why don't you call Oakbrook & as for a one way test drive to Lincoln Park if you opt for cashier's check? I am sure any SA there wouldn't mind dropping you off at Lincoln Park & they drive back to Oakbrook?

I think the speed depends on the bank. Both times I wired money for the Gravities the bank told me it could be the next day before the funds go out. Both times I had an email from Lucid within a couple of hours of leaving the bank that they had received payment.

Lucid will send you routing information for the wire transfer. However, the Wells Fargo bank they identify in San Francisco as their home account will not be the Houston Wells Fargo that comes up when you put in the bank routing number. Just be sure the account and routing numbers square with what Lucid sent you, and you'll be fine.

I am trading my Air for Gravity too.
DId you get a fair price?
Did you wait till Gravity delivery was setup to get quote for Air or sooner? I know the quote is only good for 30 days.
Any hiccups on trade-in?

It was all a pretty quick process. You take some pictures, send them back and they email you an offer. It was all handled through the SA so they’ll tell you when you should start the process but mine started when the car had arrived at the delivery center for PDI.

I was happy with the offer. Was better than what CarMax and AutoNation offered. The quote is good for 30 days and 1000 miles. I just drove the car to the delivery center the day of picking up the Gravity. They gave it a quick look, took the keys and I drove off in the new car. If you’ve got accessories in the car like weather mats in trunk, frunk, etc. take them out and give/offer them to someone as they don’t want them. I told the Torrance Service Center to just give them away to a new Air owner as I had no need for them.
 
I’m picking up my Gravity DE Black Tahoe 20/21 wheels Saturday. So the time from leaving the factory to delivery in Massachusetts will be 17 days.
