There may be some owners here that put in a dashcam for now until Lucid enables that feature. @hydbob did you? I think inside the glovebox there is a USB jack that may be used in the future for dash cam recording but I could be wrong.

We're driving up I-75 to Atlanta. Scenic spots will be in short supply . . . except for those drawn to billboards about where to get the best deals on guns, how easy-on / easy-off the exit is at a stripper bar, or warning you of the perils of missing church.

Go to Bucceess and baptize yourself in 49 selections of jerky and then charge at the Tesla station they have there. I think there’s a few along I75. I still remember going south from Chattanooga TN going through South Georgia on I75 and Northern Florida and seeing all those billboards saying “come to Uncle Bucks Catfish House where Jesus is Lord!” and “Worlds Largest Fireworks!” and a picture of a sad girl with a sign that says “confused? Pregnant? We’re here to help” and a phone number to call so they can talk you out of an abortion and tell you you’re going to Hell.

It’s spelled Buc-ee’s, which is a Texas institution. Buc-ee’s is a prime reason for my reason to abandon range anxiety and jump on the EV bandwagon here in Texas. They are easily found on most major highways in Texas and have been putting in many, many DCFC’s in both NACS and CCS. Founder is actually a college classmate of mine.

Yeah I was typing too fast hence the spelling error. I’ve been to a few of them. While overwhelming, the jerky is actually quite good, the bathrooms are nice, and if I’m down that way that’s where I’d likely stop to charge.

The phone app will do this. It’s been perfect for most folks here. The in car navigation should not be trusted for this in any way. It’s often wildly off both from a location and capability perspective with respect to charging stations.

I'm really surprised how long it's taking them. One of the sites that was supposed to be V4 here in San Diego opened already and it's a V3.5. 40 stalls though at least. And they just put in a V3.5 with 16 two blocks from me a couple months back that I almost never see in use so that'll be a nice one for top ups whenever my Gravity finally arrives (no EV right now in preparation for the Gravity).

The Cybertruck has been suck a monumental flop that there's not a big rush on the Tesla slide for 1000V chargers; nothing else they build can take advantage of them.

What are you using for map navigation instead of HERE? HERE in the Air is hit or miss, but pretty usable most of the time for me. That’s a bummer if HERE is worse in the Gravity as part of the selling point of Gravity is much better route planning features than the Air.

Generic route planning has been “okay” for me. It’s the charging that is really bad. The in car nav doesn’t seem to have good info on which chargers are where, etc.

That said, as usual, Waze is always better/more accurate for me for route planning. It’s been that way in my Tesla, Rivian and now the Gravity. That’s why I can’t wait for CarPlay.

Until we get more familiar with how much range we'll get on long interstate legs in the Gravity driving the way we want (and it's looking to be below 2.5 mi/kWh so far) . . . and until the in-car navigation can filter for NACS-partner SC sites . . . and until we figure out why our cell phones constantly drop GPS signals in the car, I've decided to go old school on this trip and lay charging options out on paper, relying on the charge provider's websites instead of apps and in-car lists. As there are no EVgo stations along I-75 in Georgia, I stuck with Superchargers (preferred) and Electrify America (while holding my nose).

Sadly, there are no NACS-partner Superchargers at Buc-ee's along this route.

There's still the issue that the EA station we checked out in Naples two weeks ago was shut completely down as was the next one up I-75 in Sarasota, causing me to wonder if they were repeating their nasty practice of shutting down entire routes simultaneously as they did in that infamous Labor Day fiasco on I-95 a few years back. I called EA customer support to inquire and couldn't even get the person on the line to understand what I was asking -- insofar as I could understand her ongoing experiment with the English language at all.

Didn’t realize you also had the cell phone GPS issue. I’ve generally narrowed it down to 1) it always happens when on wireless charger (my cell signal also seems to be almost jammed when it’s in the wireless charger - I can’t be on a call for long without the person on the other end complaining about issues) and 2) happens frequently when in the vicinity of the wireless charging pad - even cup holders - so effectively the possessed center console seems to impact it. I think there’s a pocket universe or something down there.

If I place the phone on the leather arm rest - it works fine 90% of the time. It often works if I put in my lap. Neither is ideal.

I’ve never had issues with HERE in the Air or the Gravity.

Here's a new one. When getting the Gravity ready today for our trip I noticed that the left third-row seat bottom cushion was extending about an inch forward of the right seat cushion. This made we wonder if I had missed word that the third-row seats could be moved fore and aft. While I was looking for a way to do it, I checked from the trunk area and saw that the backs of the two seats were in perfect alignment.

I wonder why one seat cushion would be longer than the other?

Huh. I guess I got used to the Air not being great at recommending the charging stops I wanted so I just would find them on Plug Share or ABRP and put them in manually. So when I drive to NYC and back when I get my Gravity I was just gonna look up on the Tesla app and manually add that stop too (or other site if ABRP recommends it). And I’d run Waze in the background so it can alert me to road hazards and cops if needed.

I see people say that a lot but here in SoCal I see tons of Cybertrucks. Several a day usually if I'm out and about.

We get about 2.3 mi/kWh when driving on Alligator Alley -- a flat, straight, always warm interstate stretch through the Everglades. We are driving at an, er, unspecified speed, though.
