Gravity Delivery Discussion

So I am not too happy with Lucid. I got called by my SA last Friday 8/15 stating that my car is done production and is preparing for delivery. Delivery will be done by the end of this month. She asked me to look start looking into auto financing and give her the info once I get a pre approval. I got my credit pulled this week and got some pre approvals. Now I reached out and I am being told it's on the wait-list and probably will be shipped after 4 weeks. All the pre-approvals expire in 30 days. I am upset that my credit report got pulled for no reason.
Sorry to hear this. Not sure if you asked or read on forum, but there’s no need to do any finance or lease work until you know they have the car. It can all be done quite fast and, unfortunately, your situation is quite common. A couple of folks did get Lucid to accept approvals that were 30+ days old if it’s Lucid doing the financing - so you also push them on that.

Unfortunately Lucid cannot offer me financing as I live in WA state. The only reason I went through the whole process of applying for the loans is because my SA herself called me out of the blue congratulating me and asking me to get started on the loan process ASAP. Ugghh...

If you haven't done so already, you might want to read the "Gravity Bugs & Issues" thread. It's possible your car is delayed while Lucid sorts out some of the issues that owners such as myself are experiencing.

Doesn't sound like your credit report was "pulled for no reason". You are pre-approved by your financier. For my financing, Lucid just wanted to know the name and address of financier along with amount being financed.

I don't know the details of your situation, but it sounds less "upsetting" than getting your car on time with issues that will likely upset you even more. Take your pick. Lucid is trying to deliver a quality car to you.

That sucks but in the end, if you get the car in 45 days you won't get an additional hit on your credit. Last I read the window used for car loan inquiries is 45 days so you can get re-authorization as soon as the pre-approval expire.

I dealt with something similar. I explained to my SA specifically because of what I was told and they needed to get it on time. They were…until the last minute (I was literally in the parking lot when they called to cancel the appt).

The credit union I went with sent me a check written to Lucid and me and I had to sign it over. A week before my delivery date I finalized the loan and they sent the check so the few days my deliver was delayed turned out to be a non-issue.

Not sure how your bank does it but maybe they do the same so it will be okay?

Also, if it helps any, my delivery was delayed by two weeks and I wanted to lock in my interest rate. My credit union asked for a buyer's/purchase order. Lucid sent me the final invoice that provided the info needed my credit union, including the credit union as lienholder, dealer license number and address, and more.

Loan approved. Certified check for the portion of purchase price financed was made available to me once car was ready for delivery.

Maybe find out what your financier needs and proceed from there.

SA says we have a vehicle attached to our order with delivery mid Sept into October, but he’s expecting the earlier part. No VIN or dashboard update.
It’s Bronze with HUD, so I’m guessing meats back on the menu

I did not know that. I was under an impression that it was 30 days. I ll look into this again.

Aaahh...Thanks for this. I ll give my SA a call tomorrow and inquire about the purchase order.

I asked for a "purchase order" from Lucid. They provided me with the Proforma Invoice, which I have to my credit union. Had all the Lucid info. I didn't get a Purchase Agreement from Lucid, to sign until after I gave Lucid a certified check totalling my funds plus the funds from the credit union.

My credit union doesn't do wire transfers. I was fine with that because I wanted to see the car before home delivery, so I brought them to certified check.

YMMV

I placed my Gravity order at the end of July. After checking the status daily it switched from “Order Confirmed” to “In Production” today. My SA helped me order a vehicle from the Allocated list so that probably helped.

At the mall, in the parking lot. The light isn't 100% wonderful in there, so tough to see everything like paint, etc., but the team there is incredibly helpful and is already good about making sure we get our due bill items checked, whether found out during the delivery process or after. As I understand, there's a third-party service center ~20 minutes away from the mall where any work would be done.

Delivery was easy - we were one of the first deliveries, so some of it was trial-by-fire, but given everything, it was understandable. Overview was as detailed as could be, and we together noted a few items that needed fixing. Setup was fine, though we (like others) have some issues fully setting things up (can't pair keycards to a profile, can't create a second profile, some random warning lights, some mechanical issues we knew about pre-delivery and they are going to fix as soon as they can, some minor paint issues, etc.). It's all part of being an early adopter, but most importantly the car drives beautifully, looks great in person and certainly has attracted the attention of others who haven't seen the car live.

I do have faith (at least with respect to the Denver studio) that the right teams are in place. They are very good there and are invested in seeing their customers happy and the brand and cars do well.
Just to add...
I live just outside Park City, UT. Delivery of the vehicle would either be at Denver, Cherry Creek Mall, or your home. There is a Lucid mobile tech in Salt Lake City that provides excellent service. There are at least two Lucids that are nearby that look awesome. I am waiting patiently, not really, for my Gravity DE to enter production. There is a friend of mine that took delivery of a Lucid Gravity DE (home delivery) in Alpine, UT. It is worth the wait.

I am also getting mine in Denver. Did you use Jeff Hunley?
I'm getting mine in Denver too- Jeff is my SA, and was super helpful in finding me an available car that nearly matched my original spec (had convenience package but no towing package). He was super responsive at the beginning of the month, but I asked him for some financing scenarios, and it's been radio silence ever since. Still, have a VIN and a "in Production" on my dashboard.
