Well, can it? Maybe. Probably a worse version of it given fewer sensors/cameras. Will it be for current model years? Almost certainly not, there's no reason for Lucid to go through the effort to add a worse version of a feature people specifically didn't pay for. Might it be added to Premium for, say, 2027 Airs? Totally possible.

Still a lot of work for a limited number of customers when they could just switch up the packages in the future. It's not just a matter of turning on a feature, they would have to practically build a whole new lane centering system to use the more limited set of cameras.

It makes sense. I was thinking that Lidars are not actively being used for lane centering and that it is a function of cameras and radar, and I recognize that would be a wrong assumption!

I believe Premium lacks (among other things) the B-pillar cameras, which are used for lane centering. You could surely compensate with other cameras, but that's a pretty big one.

I'm not sure that lane-centering (or lane-keeping) assist requires side cameras. Most general references explain it as a feature of the front-facing camera(s), like this one. Also, how is Lucid managing lane-keeping assist if it isn't tracking the lane with front-facing cameras already?
Some of us also have the hardware for DDPro, but didn't think either the price ($9000) was justified or were cautious about the timeline for implementation of more advanced features, which are just now beginning to appear. So, another route is to offer a reasonable upgrade path, as Lucid is doing with CCC2. But, ideally, include lane centering with DD Premium.
My fallback? Keep a light touch on the wheel for manually implemented lane keeping. -
