How to use NACS/Tesla app to charge your Lucid:
Is the Lucid Air limited on the V4 Superchargers as well, if anyone has tried? Thanks. Many existing CCS charging providers' stations (EA, EVGo, etc) are 350kW max and can charge faster than any public Tesla supercharger. Newer non-Tesla CCS / NACS stations are typically 400kW.
Remember that the Air is limited to 50kW max on current Tesla stations though.
Some of the smarter people here will chime in tomorrow but for tonight...Is the Lucid Air limited on the V4 Superchargers as well, if anyone has tried? Thanks.
I don't think either Air or Gravity will get 500kW. I think Air maxes out at 350 and Gravity at 400. Sure beats my X at 150kW!Tesla has announced true V4 cabinets that will support up to 500 kW for cars, but those are still in the permitting and rollout phase. Once you pull up to one of those, you will not be throttled back to 50kW but get the full Monty of 500kW!
No, but nobody can try, as they don’t yet exist. Is the Lucid Air limited on the V4 Superchargers as well, if anyone has tried? Thanks.
True. But worth noting that both will charge faster than any Tesla; Tesla’s cybertruck tops out at 325kW.I don't think either Air or Gravity will get 500kW. I think Air maxes out at 350 and Gravity at 400. Sure beats my X at 150kW!
I get it, but some of the posts lean towards making "absolute" statements like "Lucid hasn't figured out plug and charge yet" or "the app as a whole is broken". It's not, the App can do it all but currently it's not fully functional for the Air. Meaning that, if the Gravity can do it you should expect to see the same for the Air in the not too distant future..
Gravity is special. For example, the base Gravity DreamDrive 2 has lane centering while the Air has to pay for the Pro version to get it.
I narrowly talk about the title on the start of access on 7/31/2025. It's applicable to the Air while the Gravity is special that got access and working plug-and-charge well before that date.
Nevertheless, thanks for the clarification and reminder that plug-and-charge does work by just getting a Gravity.
Yeah, CA rates are a different beast. 60c a kW isn't uncommon now. Here are my charges at Tesla superchargers for roughly the same amount of energy delivered as HC_79: (the last one is super low because of the time I charged, but generally I am paying 32-35 cents per kw). Not sure if you also have to pay some kind of monthly membership fee on top of the kw cost as a non-Tesla owner.
I don't think Tesla is in any hurry to get the V4 out or may not even bring them out. Some of the smarter people here will chime in tomorrow but for tonight...
Don't judge a book by its cover...
The nickname “V3.5” for Tesla’s V4 Superchargers: while the charging posts themselves are physically updated—with longer cables, sleeker design, and better accessibility for non-Tesla EVs—they’re often still powered by the same cabinets used in V3 Superchargers, which max out at 250 kW. So even though the hardware looks like V4, the charging performance is essentially V3-level, hence the cheeky nickname “V3.5.” It’s a hybrid of old and new tech.

This is why we can't have nice thingsWorks great except it won’t reach on the older Tesla charging spots, lol. Would be nice to have a 3-4 ft extension cable.

My 19s aren’t as cool as @Amster ‘s Gravity Bears.

So close but so far!! (Ft. @Denali_Dane )
Do you have any proof of that whatsoever? If not, then let's keep things to the actual facts. The facts are V4 pilot sites are intended to go live Q3 this year. Sites are already in permittingI don't think Tesla is in any hurry to get the V4 out or may not even bring them out.
I saw an opportunity and I took it, would you expect any lesslol, as you can see by my photos it doesn’t reach in that orientation. No matter how close you get it…
Jeez @HC_79 tried calling me out.
I saw an opportunity and I took it, would you expect any less
In all seriousness though, the Air is going to be a PITA to get plugged in at the V3's. If the cable was just that little bit longer.....
No. It should PnC through the Lucid app (sending you a notification to select a station) but it appears some folks are having issues with that at the moment.Asking about the status on using just the Lucid App for Air charging at a SC? Possible?
Having read MANY pages here, it SEEMS that the only successful way to charge at a V3 or V3.5 SC is to: set up the Tesla app on your phone, and add your Lucid, add payment, plug in at a SC and then use the Tesla app to start. Am I missing anything?
I am just posting in general. I mean Tesla may or may not and it’s not Lucid to blame.Do you have any proof of that whatsoever? If not, then let's keep things to the actual facts. The facts are V4 pilot sites are intended to go live Q3 this year. Sites are already in permitting

Here is a true V4 site in CA currently in permitting

Thanks M, My Lucid app, under Service Summary, shows "P&C inactive" and "Lucid Mobile App Authentication Available"No. It should PnC through the Lucid app (sending you a notification to select a station) but it appears some folks are having issues with that at the moment.
