2.8.0 Software Update

I don't think the backlash is unwarranted... For me this is very different. Lucid provided a very specific date of the most anticipated updates (ever?), many of us who paid $7,500 or $10,000 on a promise (can't remember) 3 years ago have been patiently waiting.

Delays are fine but Lucid has been radio silent and their customer team has said its been delayed. Why are the higher ups hiding behind front line agents? Why no official posts on the forum? They were boastful and proud to get all the positive press when they announced July 30th but now crickets. Say something and I'll be ok.

Give them a break. It's literally been four days since the 30th, two of which were weekend days. As I said before, it was silly of them to post a specific date. I'm looking forward to the end of this ridiculous speculation when 2.8 comes out very soon.

OP on this thread posted release notes suggesting they received it, suggesting either a verrrry slow rollout or one that was paused.

Easy to find the URL to the official release notes from a computer. I don't have 2.8.0 but here is the link: What's new in this version (2.8.0)

No one is complaining here about them not receiving the update on day one. Please give them all a break too.
Question everyone have is, was released as announced for Public? This is a big update which paves the road for betterment of vehicle for most ready to jump from Tesla and make many happy that paid for DD Pro. Everyone are wondering if it was halted for any minor or major, can we get updated as how Lucid made it public about the release. Not even one owner here asked for i need this OTA pronto. This is all or many or few looking to know if it was delayed or released and slow rolled or trying to know how is it performing….

Hopefully everyone will take one before bedtime. Tomorrow is a brand new day to be disappointed. Personally, I’d rather have it right and delayed than to have Lucid shovel out something that is not ready for prime time

My question is after 9 pages of complaints, how do we know Lucid missed their deadline? Like I said earlier, lots of assumptions in this thread about no one receiving the update. For all we know, there is a group of customers testing the update already.

I asked this same question last week. Way too many assumptions in this still ongoing thread.

I'm looking at Dream Drive Premium vs Dream Drive Pro on a Gravity. Was it as clear as mud as to what you were paying for when you selected Pro as it is on the gravity? It looks to me on the Gravity the hardware is exactly the same( Premium vs Pro) Is this just a software holdback( of software promises ). Or has the Tesla FSD verdict illuminated that what your are really paying for is a liability payment to Lucid's insurer for any issues that DDP may be found liable for.

It was not halted. It’s just a bit late.

Since the thread is supposed to be about what's in 2.8, how it works, and so on, perhaps the mods could rename the thread to "complaints about 2.8 being late", so that later we can have a thread with this name that's actually useful. It could even start with the release notes, saying release notes for an upcoming update.

There's the occasional comment here about the usefulness of setting the amps, perhaps a comment about the hood currently being clunky sounding, how setting the amps has been helpful with a Tesla, but when anything useful gets buried in the noise, this won't be a good place for it.

If the thread gets renamed, that will allow for dozens more comments complaining about whether Lucid should or shouldn't have done anything related to the release date, and the rest of us can move on and stop reading it.
