I have not yet received a software update notification for the 2.8 update

I would just like to speak up as a “Lucid Defender” and state that I have no opinion on this matter. All I have is facts. Fact 1: Lucid gave a specific date for the update. Fact 2: it appears most if not all owners on here have not received the update yet. Fact 3: there is a reason for most if not all owners not having received the update yet.

Sorry for alienating everyone by pointing that out. Can we get a show of hands for those who think the update should be sent out NOW when there’s a reason it has not been sent out NOW?

Just like they delivered a few gravity at the end of Dec and presumably got a check mark for doing it, yes they could have pushed it out to a few. But that’s not in the spirit of announcing a release is it.

It feels like it might have been one of these...
CEO/Marketing: "We'd really like to announce a release date in Q2, can we hit Jul 30?"
Product manager: "hmm.......I THINK so....."
Marketing: "Jul 30 it is! Hurrah!"

Just feel I need to point out that Q2 ended on *June* 30, not *July* 30 (and that July has 31 days, so 7/30 would be a weird date regardless). We're just finished the first third of Q3, so the 7/30 date had no bearing on Q2.

All these kinds of threads show is how much enthusiasm there's around lucid. I hope they don't let this enthusiasm die. It is a sign they're doing something even though everything isn't perfect yet.

Here's some speculation for you: Lucid may be reevaluating the hands-free feature in light of the Tesla verdict today, or having their lawyers come up with a stronger warning. I'm sure their liability insurers are taking a look at the issue.

Yep, this is one update that has potentially severe ramifications if they get it wrong. I'm fine waiting until they're comfortable sending it out (but Lucid, really, stop making promises that you can't live up to).
