Gravity Dream Edition Performance

There are people on this forum making real-world buying decisions and therefore should be aware of the source of information.
Lol there are people here making real world buying decisions on which between the Gravity or the R1S accelerates quicker from 60-100mph on a 1/4 drag? Wow, I feel bad for those people since there deciding between the wrong two cars lmao

Everyone here is an adult and is capable of seeking out information on their own. The average American needs to do a lot of of their own research..

Is your implication that there is no difference between speaking from personal experience and parroting other people’s experience?

Because if so, allow me to tell you all about what it’s like to be black…

You missed my point, which was to say that people should be clear as to whether their posts reflect real world experiences or something they happened to see on the Internet.

Personal experience is subjective, the performance data is real. I bet the Dragy numbers will be very close to Hagerty's numbers.

I agree. I was responding specifically to the post I quoted, which does not discuss Dragy numbers.

What I was implying is that it’s absurd to demand everyone put a disclaimer on their post whether it was personal experience, read it online, saw it in a video..etc Especially when a car just came out and very few people have their hands on one/have performed testing.
If you don’t have all the information you need to make a buying decision then don’t. It’s that simple. And it’s a car for crying out loud, it’s not that serious, it doesn’t define who you are.

Once I get our car back from PPF

It seems that your car has been there for a long time.

Our Gravity went to the PPF shop on July 3, and all they've wrapped so far is the hood. This is the first Gravity they've seen, and it's been one thing after another: trying to hold off until Xpel has a template ready to pre-cut the film, trying to figure out whether Lucid will provide a replacement if the logos are damaged during removal, trying to figure out whether the lower rear skirt is painted or unpainted (parts of it are smooth as if painted, but the upper edges are dimpled as if molded composite), etc.

This is the same shop that wrapped our Air and did a great job. And they do most of the high-end cars in our area. They have two Bentleys, a Ferrari, two Lambos, and several Porsches there right now. I finally lost patience yesterday and told them just to make some choices, take some risks, and get on with it. Between this and the radar installer still waiting to get the car, it could be a month since delivery before we get this thing on the road.

Is your shop having similar issues?

I decided to not even bother with wrapping. Blasting this thing around has been awesome!

I'd have been tempted had I known it was gong to drag on like this.

The problem is that we live in a semi-rural area along the main route from the local sand quarries. Naples is exploding, and almost every building site has to be built up for flood elevation. Massive amounts of sand are quarried for that purpose. (Our home site required 70 dump truck loads of sand to reach the new flood elevation of 19.8 ft above sea level. In fact, we are located on the shore of a natural lake that was expanded to 300 acres several decades ago by quarrying sand and gravel around it. It's also why many gated communities are dotted with small lakes which are dug to produce some of the fill needed to elevate the building sites.) We often find convoys of dump trucks spread across all three lanes in both directions of the road we have to take to get anywhere, and our Air windshield in sunlight looks as it's been through a sandblaster. We're already planning to have the PPF replaced on the Air hood once the Gravities are wrapped -- less bother and expense than having it repainted.

I was biting my nails just to drive the Gravity from our house to the PPF installer even though I went in the early morning wee hours to avoid as much traffic as possible.

Once I saw that they Lucid Store had an Aurora Green paint chip pen already, I knew I wasn't going to bother. The Air is wrapped and the PPF doesn't have any dings in it at all. But it makes sense given all the sand around you.

A bunch of their guys got sick, and I was in Kenya, so I left it with them. They didn't start it until just recently, right before their guys got sick. 🤷‍♂️
