This is the 2nd time it happened in a month, the car refuses to sleep. It keeps humming quietly - the sound that it makes after you lock it and walk away. Also, when I open the mobile app it's already connected, usually it takes 5 - 10 seconds.

No, I don't have the phone or key next to it, temperature is around 72F, I don't do anything different. As a result, it drew 9 kw in 24 hours of being parked.

Any ideas?

I guess owners have been complaining about slow to wake up phone app, so now the app is more responsive at the expense of energy.

Did you turn keep mode or creature comfort on by accident? Or lose a key fob in the car?

The only time this happened to me, I eventually found my wife’s key fob in the rear footwell, haha

Neither. Wife's key is in the house, no stand-by modes turned on. I turned the WiFi off as well, did a logo reset, nothing.

The interior is also warm, from whatever process is going on. I hope it doesn't catch on fire. That would be the ultimate bug :)

That’s super weird. Grab the state with testmycode.cc and see what it *thinks* it’s doing?

I logged in, I can see the gRPC json, not sure what to look for tho. Never used this tool before.

The `powerState` is what you’re looking for. You’re right; it isn’t in a `SLEEP` state but rather a `MONITOR` state.

That state occurs when the body control module wakes up from trunk/frunk access or interior movement (alarm), if the battery management unit calls for heating/cooling for the battery, or if HVAC is on with no keys detected.

Is your garage super hot or super cold?

Yeah, your batteries are between 92.6 and 96 degrees Fahrenheit, which is very warm. Not absurd, but quite hot. Would be nearly perfect for a DC fast charge right about now! Haha

I suspect your car is cooling off the batteries, and that’s why it isn’t asleep. Did you go for a long drive? Or is your garage really hot? The Air thinks the exterior temp is 80.6F or so, so either your Air’s thermistor is busted or your batteries are really hot from a long drive, or your battery cooling is possibly not working well.

Either way, if those battery temps don’t come down soon, you should call service.

The garage temp is 70F, the only thing warm is the car. I didn't drive the car in the last 24 hours. I think I'll park it outside for now.

Nope, 70F.
And it’s been doing this for 24 hours? If so, time to call service.

(Aside: one of the useful things of setting up Home Assistant is passive data logging. You’d be able to show graphs of battery temps over this time period, etc. I use this all the time to see if the car has fallen asleep or not if I’m doing a reset, when debugging, etc)

Yeah, I'll call service. I just parked it outside, in case this escalates. Appreciate the help!

I have been having the exact same issue since day before yesterday. Let me know what the service folks find out. I will also report back what they find in my car. There is constant humming noise from the car and it's draining about 25-30 miles of range overnight.

Mine's going in and out of Monitor state as well lately. My PAAK phone is in a cradle 20ft away. I'll turn off my phone and see if the car goes back to sleep.

I did notice similar behavior with my car where the car would not go fully to sleep on multiple occasions. My theory after observing and trying to narrow it down that this is related to the most recent phone app update. I am using android app version 2.4.0 (3885). When I fully open the phone app and wake up the car in several occasions car would not go to sleep. I also notice that the app would change phone battery to "unrestricted". I think because of that plus the phone being in close proximity to the car it keeps the car in monitor state causing battery to drain. Only after I force stop the phone app and change the setting to restricted for battery management the car would go to sleep. I have passive unlock disabled in the car. Using key fob or pressing door handle to unlock.

I just forced-stopped the app, I'll check the car again in 8 hrs to see if the drain stopped.
