So, this may have been discussed previously, but is anyone else slightly annoyed by the Tidal interface? I’m fine with the mixes it compiles but every time I get in my AGT, it starts playing the same song. And…it plays the mix in the exact same order, even if I’ve selected the randomize setting on the previous drive.

First world problems, I guess. But it’d be nice to hear different songs every drive. Anyone know of a workaround?

The Tidal app is very poorly designed.

I can't imagine that they intended to make a good app and came out with the one in our cars, so the only other option is they tasked their designers with making the worlds worst musical app interface, ever.

Yeah, I've managed to subscribe to, and cancel, Tidal twice in the 5 months I've had this car. The UX is unbelievably bad, unfortunately. I'm sticking with USB audio if I want high quality, and Apple Music via CarPlay if I just want something easy to deal with

I got into the habit of pausing the song when I'm done driving or stopping by temporarily.
If I don't, sometimes the Tidal app will play the song again or completely return to the very first song on the tracklist.
I wish they'd incorporate an automatic pause function when the car goes offline.

Agree, used to do the same but finally cancel subscription. It works ok in my Polestar2 but not a great app. Can't believe they don't fix it yet considering the negatives impacts of bad publicity. 🤔

New Air owner but longtime Tidal user here. The sole upgrade I got on my car was SSP as I've worked in the music industry for decades and great sound is at the top of my list wherever I go, so I was really looking forward to hearing pristine uncompressed tracks and Atmos mixes on this system.

I've got my issues with SSP overall and in general I like it more than I dislike it... however, I gotta say the Tidal interface is truly, mind bogglingly confusing and bad. I thought I was missing something until I read this and similar threads. I came from a Tesla where tapping on an artist would then show albums and tracks by said artist, or tapping an album would then show the tracks on the album--from which you would then pick which song you wanted to hear. For some reason it doesn't work this way in the Lucid. Tapping on an artist just starts playing songs by that artist. Tapping on an album starts playing that album from the beginning. There's no way to really browse through and find what you are looking for. It's driving me crazy.

Is it possible I'm doing something wrong? Based on what I'm reading in these forums it doesn't look that way, but it's designed in such a bizzare manner compared to the Tesla and the first-party Tidal app itself, it's hard to believe something would be implemented like this. Especially with Tidal being the only way I think you can listen to Atmos mixes which is one of Lucid's main selling points for SSP in the first place.

If you can find a way to get Atmos audio files, they work via USB and sounds pretty good

It's silliest because they plugged Tidal with a free trial and put it at the front of the SSP use case

Trying Tidal now but not going to keep it. As everyone above has said it’s horrible to navigate. Functionality is poor. Maybe when they figure it out I’ll try again. Was hoping to find some tips to make it better when I searched and found this thread but sounds like everyone else is having the same experience.

The only reason for TiDAL is to get the Atmos tracks because apart from that the app isn’t well designed and not worth paying for.

Best way I’ve learnt to live with it is add your favorites / edit your playlists on your phone app and just use the TiDAL App in the Lucid to basically play the playlist. I’ll only play personal playlists or TiDAL playlists in the car because the search function etc is horrendous.

I dumped our Tidal subscription over a year ago. Either Tidal or the car terminated the login connection, and I was unable to log back in no matter what I tried. After spending a couple of weeks trying to get a response to my requests for help from the woefully misnamed Tidal "customer service" site, I finally gave up.

Getting Atmos music was just not worth the headaches of trying to deal with Tidal. I'm not even going to bother to set up a new account for the Gravity, as I won't support any company that has no reachable customer service.

I dropped Tidal as well. It's not easy to stream at home, and Atmos tracks are very limited in number. We do maintain Spotify and YouTube music subscriptions.

Like miscreant (nice handle), I was also involved in the music industry for many years, and audio quality is at the top of my list of requirements from a streaming service. Sadly, the Tidal app experience in the Lucid ain't great but I spend way more time at my desk streaming music than driving and doing the same. On a side note, the most compelling reason to be a Tidal subscriber, imho, is they have the highest pay rate to the artists.

Same. I deal with the tidal UI in the car because a) they pay their artists better and b) Atmos.

But I don’t try to do anything except play my albums, playlists, and favorites. The setup of those happens on my phone or computer.

The car, at least for now, is for Tidal consumption, not management, at least for me.

Same. Plus.

I love Tidal, but I work in high end audio and have subscriptions to Tidal and Qobuz. I now use Tidal more because it is a native interface to Lucid and Tidal abandoned it's stupid proprietary file system for Flac. And Tidal works flawlessly in Roon and other sophisticated music file applications. (So does Qobuz) And Tidal is compatible with most high end streamers. And, Tidal integrates easily with the Sonos app and it's Atmos speakers.

For years, I have had my albums and playlists set up in Tidal. And I constantly tweak, add and subtract music, into my Tidal account, from my iPad. Never an issue. And my wife I love Tidal's suggested Mixes based on our listening.

Funny, I never thought of the Tidal thin client app in the Lucid entertainment ui as anything more that a selection interface mechanism. I cannot image wanting to use the Lucid screen or any automobile entertainment screen for serious music file management. We can all agree it was never made for that.

With Tidal,I find the sound in the Lucid to be fantastic. And dead easy to play our music. I cannot imagine the alternative of taking the time to fill up a USB with high res Flacs. My wife has Tidal on her Android phone, so she uses Android auto in her Audi to play Tidal.

And sorry @DeaneG, I cannot listen to Spotify. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Like @borski said, I use my ipad or PC to do Tidal song file management into my Tidal account. Or I use Roon. And all work flawlessly. When I get in the Lucid, I just want to hit play. And drive like I stole it.
