Car won’t go into DRIVE !

This is 100% a bug with last update. My screen goes blank. Shows driver door open. My speakers start doing about 20 loud CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK then screen come up with all the icons. So annoying that an update that is supposed to improve actually makes things worse. Is there a way to roll back an update?
Here is a video showing the problem.

I have a 2023 Pure AWD and have the same problem since the update. After charging I have to do a soft reset to be able to get the car going.
Wow, sorry to hear. What are the rest of your specs (DDP, SSP, roof, wheel size)?

Happened to me today again (2025 AT). Locking the doors from the screen fixed the problem.

Good to know. So it seems like there still aren't any 2023 Pure AWDs on this forum that have the "won't shift into drive" issue. Anecdotally maybe it's affecting 2024 models the most (AT and Pure)?
Mine is awd

I'm wondering if this goes away for a while after a soft reset? I haven't rebooted my car for a couple of months now, and initially, I didn't experience any of this with the 2.6.16 update. It would be no big deal (to me at least) if a soft reset made it go away for a while and then Lucid gets this fixed. The other thing I want to try is turning off the face recognition... has anyone done that, or is having this problem without that activated?
Well, no luck on both of these guesses - come on Lucid, patch this!

Sounds like this is definitely a thing. I still haven’t experienced it, but clearly many have.

I have noticed my car seems to be booting fresh most times I get in it now, so it’s possible that’s what’s happening under the hood, and it’s not showing that on the screens?

It looks like a hang (not sure what the technical term is) in my experience. I get in, and for a brief period of time, the animation for closing the charge port is frozen, or my door still shows open even though it’s closed - and of course I can’t put it into drive or reverse - I move the selector, but nothing happens. Then everything starts working and I can go on my way. For me it’s maybe 10-20 seconds and it happens maybe one out of three or four times I get in the car.

Right; that's why I'm wondering if 'under the hood' it's actually just literally booting fresh, which could take about 10-20 seconds, instead of waking up from a sleep, and the displays are simply not updating with the fact that it's doing that.

It could certainly also be a crash or a hang of some kind, of course. Just proposing a theory.

This is interesting. Something similar happened to me the other day where I noticed the speed limit indicator was showing as a circle (non-US), instead of the rectangle. That’s a telltale sign of a reboot/reset. Didn’t affect my drivability at all, but it was definitely the first time I had seen that circle outside of a logo reset.
