Gravity Delivery Discussion

I got this email from Lucid this afternoon. The guy who sent it and calls himself my "Lucid Concierge" is not the sales associate who was assigned to me the day I placed the first Gravity order and with whom I've dealt since. Also, I have sold the Tesla I was thinking about trading against the Gravity and had already let my sales guy know there would be no trade in.

As my sales associate had earlier told me that nothing could start on the trade-in process until a VIN had been issued, I wrote back to ask if something had changed about my order status. No answer as of yet.

Has anyone else received a similar correspondence?

Just ignore this message. Two different teams completely with zero communication between the two. Trade in team at Lucid is essentially KBB affiliated. They “trigger” when you submit the trade-in request online. Whatever you do later on with your Lucid sales rep on the new vehicle purchase, unfortunately does not get communicated to the trade-in team. I went through the same exact process back in February (submitted a trade in request for my Tesla with Lucid, but sold it elsewhere for better money).

But I was told no action could start on a trade-in review until a VIN had been assigned in order to minimize the time between a quote and the actual trade, and no VIN has been assigned to either order.

I just received a call from my Advisor saying our Dream Edition has a VIN. I have confirmed that. He said it would ship to the Houston Service Center and then to the Plano, TX Gallery for delivery. No estimated date.

I also just received an email providing the Proforma Invoice - see attached.

I was out in my airplane so the image quality is not as good as with a drone. It appears that the upper section of the staging lot still has many green and black Gravity. I will do a drone flyover one day this next week.

I haven't heard anything about my Dream Edition that I assume will be delivered to the same location. Mine is Black/Tahoe/22/23 wheels. Not sure if the color will influence when it's built.

I just got the pro-forma on Friday.

I thought I heard Green is first, then Black, but we hear a lot of things so I wouldn't put too much weight behind that.

Thank you for doing this! Airplane or drone, it's encouraging to see the updates.

I checked in with my SA and he said his system shows status as "general assembly". I wonder what that practically means, and what the transition point is from that to "in production" in the customer dashboard view. (In the forums the only data is 30 months old; these details have surely changed and stop being relevant once there's enough volume production going on to reduce demand.)

Original order placed for GT on 4/29, then changed my order from GT to DE on 5/2, along with interior change from Yosemite to Tahoe, while keeping wheels at 20/21. SA called me 10 minutes ago to inform me that they have matched me with a vehicle/production and to expect delivery in less than 8 weeks.

so interesting how these are being allocated. i placed GT order on opening day and placed my DE order (I didn't convert it, I just placed a new order) on 3/11. Black, Tahoe, mid-size wheels. Still nothing to speak of on the delivery front.

I'm trying to temper my disappointment at not getting this thing soon by telling myself that the later in the production run, the better a car I am likely to get. But then the longer I end up waiting and the less I get to be "first" I start to wonder if it isn't then more worth it to wait until the financing offers improve..... ugh.

Change the wheels and you are in.

We all hate you…GT on order since 11/7 8:48am est

Please do post your impressions of the HUD ;-)

And if you run a Dragy, 0-60 and whatever else you got…

Thanks!

Ordered on January 21st, switched to DE on April 16th. Black, 20/21 wheels, Yosemite interior. Heard nothing so far. You're not alone!

I know I wasn't the earliest order, but i ordered the GT 4 months before you, and switched to DE 2 weeks sooner than you as well. All the same options, except for Yosemite vs. Tahoe interior. Not your fault of course, but kind of frustrating. Oh well, trying to be patient!

It has definitely crossed my mind that they are having, ahem, supply chain issues with the mid-sized wheels as well. No word on delivery of any of those yet AFAIK.
Maybe we should set up a wheel exchange matchmaking service for new Gravity deliveries!
