Lucid UX 3.0

I assume Lucid Development are focusing on UX 3.0 and that is why we haven't seen any recent updates. I am of the mind that this would apply to both platforms (not just Gravity). I can't imagine they would want to maintain 2 different code bases for Gravity and Air.

oof, looks like I am wrong. Just read this in an older UX 3.0 thread:

"At one of the local events, a Lucid executive shared that Air and Gravity software development teams are two separate teams and development of Gravity software shouldn't interfere with Air software development."

If that's correct, then Lucid has some 'splainin to do

That statement is true (and nothing new), but doesn't mean that Air won't be getting (some of? most of?) UX 3.0. It's a good thing the dev teams are separate, otherwise we wouldn't have been getting any updates for the past couple years. Hopefully at some point the Air team will be porting things back from Gravity and consolidating, at which point there might be a general infotainment team for everything shared, a Gravity infotainment team for Gravity-specific bits, and an Air infotainment team for Air-specific bits. For all we know little under-the-hood pieces of Gravity software may have already been making their way into Air for the past year, and they're just waiting for Gravity code freeze to start porting back more.

Also, we really don't know how the Lucid software team is organized. It could very well be a group of backend engineers splitted in two (gravity / air) that handles all the low level communication with the car components, and a front end team working on the v3 redesign.

Most of what UX3 seems to offer on the software side, like multi task, was part of the factory day presentation last fall where they shared the roadmap of fdatures to be delivered by Q4 2024.

I wouldn't worry much as the glimps we got from some press reviews showcasing UX 3 shows off a lot of quality of life improments that shouldn't be too taxing for old 2022 infotainment hardware. Only time will tell, and I guess with Gravity deliveries starting in May, we'll get our Air UX3 soon enough

Makes sense, you need 2 teams. I'm sure the next iteration of the Air will have updated hardware/screens when they can finally merge both teams.

Zipcube posted this in the Next update thread. "next update coming is 2.6.15 per mobile service techs."
