I have AT25 with glass roof/canopy. It's currently sitting on my drive way under direct sunlight. Exterior temp is 50F. Interior temp has risen to 100F. Is this normal/expected? Both my acura and wife's MY w/ glass roof isn't getting this hot under same condition. How much hotter is it going to get during peak summer temps? And is there some safety mechanism that cools down the interior when it's way too hot for components? My wife uses the garage to park her car, but I may have to ask her to switch with me during summer. Holy cow.

These help a lot, as does a conventional windshield sunshade. I leave the roof shade in 9 months of the year in northern California. They still let through little pinpricks of light, nice.

I agree with @DeaneG's recommendations.

I live in Phoenix AZ. Needless to say, the summers are sunny and hot.

Tinting the glass and get the Lucid sunshades help a lot. I garage my car so it does not stay in the sun all day. The Lucid shades are bit pricy compared to generic Amazon shades (~2.5X $ more). But the Lucid shades do fit nicely. They are unintrusive and you can leave them up year round.

You keep the MY in the garage but leave your Air outside? Must be a lease🤣.

But seriously, not sure why you would notice that the MY is cooler when both are left in the sun. Is your Air a darker color? Does it really feel like 100 degrees or is the temp sensor off? Both the Tesla and Lucid have coatings on their glass roofs to reduce UV and light. The sunshades both for the glass roof and windshield should reduce your interior temps significantly and protect your interior as well.
If you don't want to use the sunshades, you can tint the glass roof. You can also tint and or UV reduce the windshield, windows and rear glass too.

Wifey gets the garage. End of story.
It is strange why MY doesn't get heated up as much as my Air in same condition. But MY is also bad too (80 vs 100F at outside temp of 50). Considering the cabin temp matches outside temp at night, I think sensor is fine. Both dark gray.
Will try out the sunshades but stinks we don't get to enjoy the glass canopy half of the year in Northeast.

You still can. The sunshades are super trivial to take off and put on.

I'd just use the app to precondition the car, I only recently got the sunshade but now kinda miss all the natural light while driving. Garage helps but preconditioning is king when your out an about.
