SiriusXM requires frequent reboots: normal?

Latest Findings:

March 15, 2025
Sirius Radio played on my drive home, and when I pulled into my home garage with wi-fi on. Next morning (3/16/25) it said no or slow internet and would not play when I drove away, nor my entire drive. I did not reset it since I wanted to see what would happen over time. It stayed broken no matter where I drove.
Before I did a reset, I tried turning off wi-fi, and switching stations. It did nothing.

Sirius had not come back in several days of local driving. I parked in front of house (wi-fi off), did 2 button + brake reset, and it came back immediately. It had not lost my favorites.

My working hypothesis is that the cell data modem has a poor recovery mechanism from a fade. It must be manually rebooted to re-acquire the Sirius stream.

Status Report March 19, 2025.

Its still working.

I did some more research and discovered that the Sirius service is called 360L and is provided on AT&T's wireless network via an internet modem in the car.

It first appeared on the Dodge RAM. If you go to their equivalent of our Forum, you will see the same kinds of complaints about the service stopping and requiring multi-button resets. I have no idea how frequent the problems are in either brand, but my gut feeling is that its related to signal strength.

I do not know if Dodge/Sirius uses the same Modem as Lucid/Sirius, but my guess is they do.

Just picked up a new 2025 Lucid Air Touring on Monday of this week and having this issue...I have had to do the hard reset literally once a day, very annoying. Coming from a BMW its something I never had to worry about...also a steering wheel squeak poped up which I see its another comon issue. Hope Lucid reads this and is working hard to find solutions for these items. Otherwise the car is amazing....so far. I have the base sound and I will tell ya, its way better than the base sound on my former 5 series BMW. Overall I find it quiet, smooth, handles well, and fast as hell.

Sirius/XM Fails: Status Report March 21, 2025

Sirius/XM still working after reboot a few days ago. Car pulled out of semi-shielded garage and parked in front of house with wi-fi off. Cell signal strength = 2-3 bars varying.
Sirius/XM ok and 2.6.11 update loaded in less than an hour.

My working hypothesis is still that the cell data modem has a poor recovery mechanism from an AT&T fade. It must be manually rebooted to re-acquire the Sirius stream.
If anyone else is having problems, please report the number of bars of cell signal strength.

Lucken: True - I have had known spots of a quarter mile or less with service interruptions. The service always comes back when I pass them. But, what I'm experiencing now is sudden permanent failure over many miles and many days, where it has worked in the past. This has happened twice now. I will keep digging anbd reboot again today.
I have seen this same issue. Start driving - silence. Nothing fixes it except a reboot.

I'm still trackinng my experience. I have turned off my wi-fi. Our AT&T signal here varies from 1 to (rarely) 3 bars. It still seems to work after last reboot a week ago.

Try turning off your wi-fi, note your signal strength, and report back.

Didn't read all the way back in the thread, but have you had service come out and do the modem reset? There's a thread on here for performing it yourself, but it's possible this may resolve your issue.

No, I did not have service come out. I want to accumulate more major things (if any develop) to make their trip into the Lucid boonies more efficient. Meanwhile, the 2 button plus brake reboot (plus wi-fi off) seems to have worked for now.

Happy reboot Monday

I have been trying to find the cause of this. Did you have wi-fi off? How many signal bars do you have?

My wi-fi has been off for over a week and I have not had the problem repeat yet. Our AT&T cellular signal here is 1-2 bars most of the time, as shown on the car.

wifi isn't the issue, this pic was taken as I was leaving the gym so no wifi network for it to pivot from...I agree on the cell signal side but based on all this experience I really don't think it's a ATT signal issue. When we lived in Kansas City, MO I had the same issues, and we lived in a very metro area that was blanketed with coverage. Pure-ly guessing but I think this is a hardware issue on them being able to receive the signal. But who knows...I can reaffirm that this issue happens whether or not I'm leaving home or where ever. Always super fun because it's a game! Will it work this time?! IDK!

I agree - I thinks its the modem.

In my case, when it failed most reliably, was when the car was in my garage with a strong wi-fi signal and weak AT&T. Then, when I pulled out of the garage with the wi-fi signal getting weaker and a not very strong AT&T, it got confused and failed.

I disabled the wi-fi connection in the car, rebooted, and its been OK for a week. It is a game. I call my car Lucy when she behaves, and Lucifer when she does not! The positive thing is that Favorites are not lost on the reboot. P.S. - I like your station. I first heard of the 9/11 event from his live coverage.

Good for you, I’m over it, with all the drama around Tesla I listed mine and hope I can sell it…

I'm seeing similar behavior in my MY25 AirGT.
My Sirius XM Account subscription is current and works on any other device I use it with.
I have to use Bluetooth from my phone as a workaround for now... But that isn't ideal at all...
I have to reach out to SiriusXM, but I think they are not the issue...
Infotainment reports "No Subscription" for the status, the Login/Setup option is "greyed out" too...
So I can't do anything from the infotainment settings... It's pretty frustrating to say the least, but the workaround seem to be working (for now)...
I am also having the same issue after months with no problem. Now says No Subscription and the login is greyed out. The only option showing is Subscribe Now. I’ve rebooted 3 times. When I check online, the service is connected to my car ID with no errors showing.
has anyone figured out why this is happening all of a sudden or how to fix before I reach out yo Lucid?
