I've been a Lucid AT owner for a week now. I think the user interface is not intuitive and the Lucid assistant not helpful. I believe customer service needs better training to provide accurate answers.

Yesterday I couldn't figure out how to bring down the sunscreen on the rear driver side window. I searched and could only find a control on the pilot panel for the rear window shade. I called customer service and had to leave after 30 minutes because they couldn't find an answer. First, she said it was somewhere on the pilot panel. Then they said it was on the rear panel, and I could only control it from the back seat. (really?) I pulled up the controls in the back and there was no shade button. I reset the car. At that point (28 minutes later) she couldn't figure it out. She said she would do more research and get back to me. So far haven't heard from anyone. Also I came back and tried to bring up the rear seat control panel. No response. Reached to the front and that panel was not locked. I then locked it and then the control came up. Seating tab was locked however.

Just FYI, sunshades can be controlled with the window control on the door for both driver and rear passenger. Press it once to control the window. Press it again to control the sunshades. Oh and Hey Lucid didn't answer correctly.

Button logistics. On the left side of the pilot panel, there are quick access for controls that are frequently used. There is a button for frunk, but no button for the trunk control. It would be beneficial to add one.

Seat heating: I asked Hey Lucid how to turn on the seat heat and it said it was under the seating control section. Nope. It's under the Fan/ Climate control section.

Easy entry: When I open the door the seats automatically give me more room to get out. I've set up my face recognition and phone as key. When I get in it doesn't automatically bring it back up to my stored setting and I have to restore it. I thought the face recognition was supposed to bring everything back to my settings.

Laggy app: Forgot to close my trunk and tried to close it with the app. Didn't work. Tried a few times and also brought phone closer to the trunk. Pressed the manual close trunk button. Didn't work. Went to the pilot panel and tried to close it but it didn't work. Went back and manually forced it closed (it was pretty stiff). Went back to the app and it still thought the trunk was open. There were a few times that trying to open the trunk and frunk didn't work or was painfully slow to react. At all times when opening up the app to open the doors there is quite a delay.

Bluetooth: My phone is connected yet under Apps/ Lucid Assistant it shows it's not bluetooth connected. I saw this picking up the car and still hasn't been resolved. Maybe the Lucid assistant isn't getting the correct answers because it's not connected to bluetooth?

Dream Drive Pro: Got a message that the Lidar wasn't working and I needed to clean it. I did and kept getting the message. Restarted the car and it seemed to clear it. Lane centering. I can see that I'm right in the middle of the lane but DDP buzzes that I'm over the line. Very annoying. Initially it showed my that I was driving on the line on the freeway when I was clearly centered in my lane.

I have to reset my car so often. Everyday something is glitching or doesn't work or I can't figure out where the control is. Customer service is erratic and sometimes fails to follow up. I sent some comments about the buying experience 2 weeks ago and still haven't received a response. It was the most difficult and stressful buying experience I've ever had.

If I don't look at the UI the car drives wonderfully. The User Interface however, ruins the whole experience. I hope this is something that they are working on to fix.

Anyone else have comments about the UI and Lucid Assistant? Anyone have answers to some of my problems?

This is in the owners manual, which can be found in your Lucid app or in the car itself. If you don't want to read the manual, it's always easiest to ask here first.
Button logistics. On the left side of the pilot panel, there are quick access for controls that are frequently used. There is a button for frunk, but no button for the trunk control. It would be beneficial to add one.
The Pilot Panel is the lower screen, I think you were referring to the left side of Glass Cockpit. The reason there is a button for the frunk there is so you can reach into the car from the outside and quickly press it since there is no exterior button for the frunk. While sitting in the car, you can easily reach the Pilot Panel and press the button to open the trunk.
Seat heating: I asked Hey Lucid how to turn on the seat heat and it said it was under the seating control section. Nope. It's under the Fan/ Climate control section.
The Seat section only moves the seat. Climate control has anything to do with making things hotter or colder. Again, this is in the manual as well. I'm not a big fan of Lucid Assistant, it is brand new and some of its answers are dead wrong.
Easy entry: When I open the door the seats automatically give me more room to get out. I've set up my face recognition and phone as key. When I get in it doesn't automatically bring it back up to my stored setting and I have to restore it. I thought the face recognition was supposed to bring everything back to my settings.
Profile functionality in the car is kind of weird. I don't think face recognition actually does anything. I think it has to do with which key fob or mobile key is detected first if more than one person is getting in the car. My solution was as simply delete profiles of people who don't drive the car very often. So, I just have my own. When my wife does drive a car, which is seldom, she just adjusts the seat manually. It would be nice if they had some sea recall buttons like most other cars, but we do not. This has been on the wish list since the beginning. Much info about this can be found at www.lucidupdates.com.

The phone does not need to be anywhere near the trunk or car to use the app. The app uses a cellular signal. If the trunk is open for more than 10 minutes, it will need to be closed manually. I think this is to protect the battery, but I'm not sure. This is also in the manual.
Bluetooth: My phone is connected yet under Apps/ Lucid Assistant it shows it's not bluetooth connected. I saw this picking up the car and still hasn't been resolved. Maybe the Lucid assistant isn't getting the correct answers because it's not connected to bluetooth?
Hey Lucid has nothing to do with your phone or its signal. You should have two Bluetooth connections, one for infotainment and one for mobile key if you are using it.

Your cameras may need calibration. Contact service about this one.

You shouldn't have to reset the car hardly ever. If you have a question or need to figure out something, come here, we are all willing and able to help you.

I think the user interface on this car is actually very beautiful and elegant. What about it is ruining the experience for you? It just sounds like you haven't read the manual or familiarized yourself with the functions of the car.

Lucid assistant is fairly close to useless. I have turned it off.

@Vickiesa, this forum is your friend. Questions get answered here much quicker than calling customer service, and probably more accurately. I kind of laughed when I read some of your questions, because I had a lot of the same ones when I first got the car. It works so differently than my previous car that I was confused about where a lot of functions were. The first couple weeks I had it, I'd pull up the manual in the car a few times a week to look up where some control was that I'd been looking for. It's like anything else, once you get used to driving it, you just know where everything is and don't even think about it.
@Bobby's answers are spot on. The only thing I'd add is that everything - seat, mirrors, wheel - work with your profile, not face recognition. If you don't want to hit Restore all the time, turn on Easy Entry in the Settings menu. It's under Doors and Seats or something like that. (I'm not in the car)

Thanks everyone! I’ll take your advice and read the manual. I thought between all the videos my advisor told me to watch and my onboarding when I picked up the car it would be easy to navigate. I’ve had 2 model Ss and I thought the setup would be somewhat similar. I wish they would make corrections to those videos because it seems like some of those things have changed or been outdated. I’m glad I don’t need to use Alexa 😂.

I couldn’t find a search function in the manual. Is there one? It probably would help customer service too.

Now that the Gravity is finally finished I hope they can fix and improve the software. What’s your prediction on when we’d be able to use car as home charger if you have solar ( with the new home wall charger)?

Does anyone know if the controls are the same on the Gravity as they Air?

Thanks Bobby so much for your thorough explanations! I am connected to my phone because I am able to use the mobile key and infotainment because I have car play. Does it not matter that the Lucid Assistant says it don’t have a Bluetooth connection? It is answering just not correctly.

Also is it weird that the car play control doesn’t always pop up under the menu in the cockpit screen. It’s done this even when my Spotify is playing when I get into the car. I guess it turns on the music last played automatically.

...Does anyone know if the controls are the same on the Gravity as they Air?
Gravity will ship with a wholly new UX. I'm hoping it makes its way back to the Air as well.

Have chat on the app actually work. You might be understaffed. My inquiry from 1/3/25 still has not been answered.

Thanks Bobby, for taking time to go through this point by point!

Your videos are awesome. How many of your 50 suggestions have been implemented?
I love the experience that is Lucid. Absolutely the best driving car ever, expecially after driving a Model S P100D for 8 years.
Do you have any insight as to the progress being made on fixing software glitches? The ones I experience that seem to always fix themselves when either the car is off for a while or I reboot by pressing the Air logo are:
1. Highway assist does not come up (sometimes starts after some time while driving, sometimes comes back after car off or after the reboot. Will sometimes go away while driving.
2. Same with radio FM or Sirius
3. Getting message that regenerative braking is reduced when starting in morning (goes away quickly).

Have you had a chance to drive the Gravity?

....Getting message that regenerative braking is reduced when starting in morning (goes away quickly).
That may not be an error. Cold battery = limited regen capability.

Unfortunately I don't have any answers for you about highway assist. As far as audio goes this could be dependent upon your cellular signal. What circumstances are you getting
messages about braking? After charging? During cold temperatures?

I have not had an opportunity to drive the Gravity.

Turn off curb rash assist. I bet this is because your cameras are dying. Try turning that off and see if this stops happening.

2. Same with radio FM or Sirius
Known bug. Will get fixed.

3. Getting message that regenerative braking is reduced when starting in morning (goes away quickly).
Not a bug. When the battery is cold (usually in the morning), regen is reduced. You can preheat the car to help with this.

I figured the cold was the issue
my car is brand new and the HA works for long periods on long trips then every now and then it doesn't work until restarted so i doubt the cameras are dying
Thanks for what you are doing for our community

The next time HA dies, turn on a blinker and see if the blind spot cameras come up. If they don’t, your cameras are dying, and you should turn off curb rash assist until it is fixed. 🙏

Turning off curb rash assist had no effect. On long trip yesterday, HA was intermittent. I do think driving is safer with it and dram drive pro was one of the reasons i bought the car.
Remind me how to do the hard reset (not pressing the Air symbol

In Park and while pressing the brake, hold down the steering wheel X and Mic buttons until you hear a chime. Then release and wait.

Hi All, a new AT owner here. Its a nice car, but a little too buggy to my taste. Recently, Lucid Assistant stopped turning AC off. It does turn it on, but when asked to turn it off - it does say "turning AC off" but AC keeps working... Any solutions to this?
