I have a 2024 Air Pure base model with Dream Drive, not equipped with DD Premium or Pro options, also no hardware or additional front/360 cameras for a software upgrade.

Not having a front camera make it really hard to park at outside parking lots with curbs or block slabs placed in various heights., with out seeing it. The park sensors sometimes work, but can not rely on it.

Anyone retrofited a generic front camera with a standaline display on their Lucids ?

Looking for options on how others handled/handling this.

I ll have to keep an eye on this thread, i somehow missed the part that only dd pro/premium has the front and side mirror cameras.

I have a Pure with standard DD. I believe you do have a front camera. Just don't have access to it at the moment. I even get the occasional alert that front camera is blocked during inclement weather or foggy windshield. It's my understanding that when a sentry mode is enabled for cars without the 360 cameras, that we will at least be able to capture footage with a front and rear camera. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have not heard that before but it would be great if it turns out to be correct.

Look under the rear view mirror from the outside. That’s the front camera.

What is the camera on/around the light blade used for? Once I got the front camera obstructed error and the location it was showing in the message was around the light blade. I thought that was the front camera?

  3. Front Multifunction Camera
  4. Short-Range Radar
  5. Ultrasonic Sensors
  6. Rear View Camera

Yo Borski---long time, etc. If anyone would know this it's you: Bought my 2023 Touring with standard DD (I continue to have no interest in the car driving me--I prefer to drive it) But DD has only a rear view camera view (I won't go into base price Hyundais, etc) but not having the overhead view to see parking stripes, etc is a major failing. Then L offered an option ($2500!) to get the overhead view and digital rear viiew. which is all i need. But if I configure a new car they charge 1500 for that option (DD Premium?) Can't I get it for 1500? Why would they charge a loyal buyer more for something that (on the margin) cost L nothing?

Prices go up and down at any given time.

DD Premium was standard last year, so by your logic, you could have upgraded at zero dollars last year too.

The reason a price is decreased is to move the inventory out. Your car is already out of the inventory at a specific price already, there's no need to adjust the price any more.

Are you saying that Lucid can retrofit your standard DD to give you an overhead view?

absolutely...your's too. just like any periodic update

I’d be interested in this if it were a thing. Is it? And if so, is it the same as retrofitting DD Premium to a base DD vehicle, or something else?

I have no idea about any of this. I own a DE, and it came with everything 🤷‍♂️

As far as I know, at least for 2024 Pures, there was more camera hardware in cars with DD Premium, and that you. Could not upgrade, just as premium cannot upgrade to Pro.

Not if the cameras aren't already installed. I have a late model '24 Pure with standard DD, and wrote Lucid customer service asking about retrofitting to include 360 cameras. They said no; the necessary hardware needed to be installed during production stage, and cannot be retrofitted.

Forgive my ignorance,
> the "so-called" 360 degree bird's-eye view image is a simulated composite, correct?
> many cars on the market in the last decade have this capability. For example, my 2017 Lexus RX450h was equipped with this.
> the Lexus also had many of the currently enabled DD features, 8 years ago And it had a lot fewer cameras than the current Lucid Air.

I am very skeptical that Lucid is limited by HW (# cameras) or SW to enable this feature.

That said, I think if Lucid decides NOT to enable the feature on the Pure for business reasons, that's their prerogative.

I don't know exactly how the 360 image is created in DDP, but the DD base models lack cameras in the side view mirrors. I strongly suspect those cameras are needed to create the 360 image.

So, DD base does not have side view and blind spot cameras, correct?

Yeah the camera listed in borki post above labeled number 2 is surround view monitoring and is blocked on screen when I cover it. DDP here.

According to Google, it should have blind-spot camera and Surround View. I don't know whether this info is dated or if Lucid changed the Pure's equipment.
