In an interview this morning, Peter Rawlinson was asked if he could commit to delivering all 577 Dream Editions promised in the SPAC filing by year end. Rawlinson hemmed and hawed and would only say they were doing everything they could. He never confirmed they would actually get all the Dreams out the door by year end. It starts at 1:15 in the interview:

A Dream buyer who attended the Casa Grande event yesterday (and absolutely loved the car after a 25-mile test drive) said he saw over 100 Dream Editions on the assembly line. However, none were in the Zenith Red (my color choice), and he suspects that color won't be among the early deliveries. If he's right -- and he probably is -- that means my being quick to confirm my order will not put me near the front of the delivery queue as I was told I would be.

Here is my experience:

I had a fantastic 2 day visit with Lucid Motors in Casa Grande. It was the best auto presentation I have seen in my life.

I was invited to few Mercedes Benz new model presentation galas. Lucid beat every one. Here is my rough summary. If I remember something I left out, I will edit it.

I love to hear what the media and professions thought about the event. These are my personal views.

Dolby Atmos is present in all Dream Editions, as confirmed yesterday.Surreal sound is the general name of the sound system which includes Dolby Atmos as a part of the system.

The question of the color on top of the side mirror was explained that only the Dream Editions come with matching top while the rest of the models will have the top color matching the body color.

The production rate started about 4/day and finally will be 6-8/hour, I was told. I never got an answer about the present rate of production. I saw over 100 Lucid Air DE on production line yesterday and all of the have VIN Nos on them. They have, I believe some production models ready for delivery.

Peter announced that delivery will start later half of October 2021 to all the invitees, all Lucid workers and executives in the presence of State Governor. There was a thundering applause and a lot of cheer from the audience.

But I personally believe the delivery may start during the third week. There may be delay on delivery of Zenith Red DE.
Most on the production line were while, Black and very few Eureka Gold, none Zenith red on line. But there were Zenith Red parts stacked up, though there were none on production line. Few Zenith Red DE were on show with bright light

Talked about warranty coverage of the paint if one wraps the whole car with clear or colored wrap. I was told as long as the paint is not damaged as a result of wrap, the warranty on paint will hold good. I am planning to wrap clear on hood, trunk and top of sides of Eureka Gold with clear wrap and the rest of the body in Cherry Spark Red color which is pretty close to Zenith Red.

I was surprised to get a chance to be the first to test drive and drove about 25 miles along I-8 and I-10 highway. I was asked to step on it by Lucid co-passenger. Before I knew it I reached 90m/hr so smooth and steady. I asked him where is the button. He asked what button? I told him the button which takes me away to clouds flying. He had a big laugh. He said one would never know. It could happen some day.

The vehicle is rock solid hugging the road and the suspension was fantastic, even though it was not an air ride. Last 30 years I had all MB with air rides, but Lucid Air ride was no inferior to air ride. As a matter of fact I felt it was better.

Steering wheel is just a little thicker and very comfortable to hold with a cushy feeling. It is not slippery like other cars and had a gentle stiffness which I liked very much.

Interior was fabulous Napa leather with very comfortable seats which I thought was better then most luxurious Mercedes.
Overall with about 50 cars in my lifetime and nearly 20 of the Mercedes, I felt Lucid Air Exceeds in all aspects and I personally feel LUCID AIR DREAM EDITION is the Best vehicle ever made in auto industry including the most famous popular EV's of today and is at least 5 years ahead in their technology and luxury.

Rawlinson said yesterday that the first batch of vehicles rolling off the line are for the marketing folks, so yours could still be one of the early customers ones not on the line yet. Who knows how many marketing vehicles they're making?

I'm confused by this as well. When I visited Oak Brook Studio they said they were hoping to get a "live" vehicle. Could anyone tell the trim level of the 100 cars? Doesn't seem likely they would test drive using Dream Editions. You can't buy one...

Ashoka8350, thanks for your observations, sounds great. Any thoughts on the interior quietness? Aside from loving the car overall, one reviewer commented on road noise being his single biggest disappointment. Would you agree or disagree and do you know what size wheels your tester had?

And can we get something OBJECTIVE!?!? Reviewers PLEASE use a real SPL meter. Not a app with a cellphone mic.

^ I think the true SPL meter readings will have to wait for the professional, written reviews. You have to know how to use a good noise meter, otherwise even they can give misleading readings.

However I agree, I’d like to see some objective measurements even though there’s room for subjective evaluations.

True, memory is not a good tool. I'm not an expert but other factors could make one vehicle sound quiet but actually isn't when measured. I was reading an article about foam filled tires and they referenced the Rolls Royce and they had to take insulation OUT due to sensory deprivation.

But let's be honest, maybe the LUCID AIR is so good, people just have to be picky about something.

Now that you mention it, I had heard that earlier from a sales rep, too, and it does makes sense. Ashoka8350, who has posted above his impressions from his factory visit and test drive on Tuesday said he saw Dream Editions on the production line. I wonder if that means Dream Editions will be sent to the Studios for test drives, even though they won't be available for order?

Do you know the ground height? Highest? Lowest?

The coil spring suspension does not have adjustable ride height. I asked someone at Lucid if they had devised a way to raise or lower the suspension using the shocks, and I was told no. However, some of the later beta prototypes look to have slightly more ground clearance that the early prototypes, so maybe at the time Lucid scrapped work on the air suspension they increased the status ground clearance a bit? (This little tidbit was suggested by a sales rep in a Design Studio. He said his cell phone could not stand upright under the showroom car, but he had been able to do it under a later car he saw.)

I called Lucid Sales to ask about the wheels in the above photo and to see if they would become available. I pointed out that this car was previewed to the press during "Production Preview" week and that I would find it odd to present show wheels that would not be available, as the currently available wheels are on hand and could just as easily have been put on this car.

The sales rep spent a couple of minutes telling me he couldn't access the Lucid Motors twitter feed. When he finally did, he tried to tell me this car had the 20" Aerolite wheels that are already on the order configurator. I tried to explain the difference in the two wheels to him, but he was having none of it.

Now, honestly, is it that hard to tell the difference?

I spoke with a sales rep today and he confirmed that the wheels are indeed the 20" wheels. The wheels on the configurator were apparently placeholders until they got the final design. That's why they look so much like the Dream 21s.

I also asked about test drives and he said that it would be before the end of the year, but couldn't confirm any specific timeline. They want to produce all the Dreams before any testers, which I assume will all be GTs.

Has anyone heard anything about front license plate holders for the Air? Will they be mandatory for delivery or a delete option? (I live in Florida, where front license plates are not required.)

(The Tesla Model S, which used to have a delete option, is now delivered with a mandatory front license plate holder because that is the configuration in which the refreshed car received its crash ratings. However, it is mounted with adhesive tape so that it can be removed without any cosmetic consequences to the bumper.)

I just heard back from my Delivery Advisor who had no answer as the question had not yet come up. She's going to check and get back to me.

Meanwhile, if other forum members have this issue, PLEASE contact your sales rep or delivery advisor to let them know of your concern while there is still time for Lucid to make any changes, if necessary.

Also, as Lucid personnel monitor this forum, perhaps you can let them know via the forum, too.

Since the question of a front plate holder never came up while I was confirming my order configuration with my Delivery Advisor, I'm worried that Lucid is planning on delivering all cars with the front holder.

The cars leave the assembly line without them, but the plan is to attach them to all cars when they are prepped for delivery. She is putting in a request that mine be left off, but she told me that I might be asked to sign a waiver (which I will do).

That's pretty bizarre with 20 states not requiring it.
