OTA update 2.1.42

When you pick up a new one, will it have the update all the way installed, or do I need to make sure I have time to update when I get home from studio?

Typically Lucid will update it prior to delivery, but it is not a big deal to start the update after you have it at home.

It should be up to date when picking up new from a studio. If not this update is huge. It took estimated 100 minutes to complete.

There are several posts about cold weather efficiency popping up on various threads here. Great topic. Maybe we can consolidate into one thread as we accumulate more experiences heading into winter. I have experienced a 25% decline in efficiency at 25F versus 70F (3.2 vs 4.2) flat terrain.
It's just a reality of current EV battery design and basic chemistry. Cold weather inhibits chemical reactions in the battery and reduces range. EVs don't generate heat naturally like ICE cars so they need additional energy to warm the cabin. There are things you can do to help - like preconditioning, or using the seat heater/steering wheel instead of the cabin heater, but we should all expect a significant drop in range in cold weather geography.

Oh well, based on what Tim & Andretex are saying it looks like we will need an additional sub for this service. I do use SXM, so it looks like I have no choice. :(
I dont have SXM already so I will need to start a subscription to continue. However, it appears the level of Sirius that we have is platinum, because I can listen to NFL play by play. The cost to continue will be $10.99/ month. The $4.99 plan is only for limited music, news and talk. Can anyone confirm?

Is it my imagination, but after 2.1.42 update the throttle (accelerator) response is smoother and more even? It just feels different (in a good way) after the update. No other settings were changed on the car. I have it set for maximum regenerative braking and battery charge at 75 percent.
Also, I know some of you don't like the additional sound effects, I like the positive audible feedback.

Yes. How should I use preconditioning to help efficiency?

Similiar to how the preconditioning feature brings the battery temperature to the ideal range for DC fast charging, turning the climate on and warming the battery prior to driving can help with efficiency. (Note this was the case with Teslas, but nothing in Lucid's manual advises doing this, so could that Lucid's battery management system does a better job at keeping the battery at the right temperature - so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt)

After this update, traffic drive-off alert does not work. I swiped off then on again for the alert - same thing. I did the Air logo reset - same thing. Anyone else experiencing loss of the drive-off alert?

It should be, but check. I had to update mine when I got it home. It was two updates behind.

So love much of the new update but my I can no longer make a functional phone call. I have an iPhone. TI do not hear the caller when connected through bluetooth. If I dosconnect and just use the iPhone speaker, it works fine. I knwo they had this bug with feedback but this is not exactly a fix.

I almost never get those, because I'm usually moving before the person in front of me is.

Literally everyone else is reporting that their phone sound is much better with this update. Have you adjusted your volume for phone in settings, perhaps?

My phone volume is fine. In a lot of stop and go traffic on the Parkway, it only sounded once even though I purposefully waited behind a few extra seconds to see if it would.

Got it. Worth some experimentation especially for shorter trips. It seems even leaving home nice and toasty within 30 minutes the car will be frigid unless the battery management system intervenes.

It definitely makes a difference. I’m seeing 3.4 miles per kWh at 75-80 when it’s in the 30s outside. Car just turned past 1000 miles on this trip.

More importantly, if you’re up for a beer en route please let me know. I’m in NH until the 25th, then back to DC.
I will be driving through Albany on Tue and bypassing NH. So I will miss you this time but I will surely fly to DC and meet you.

Since I use HA at 72 which is really 70mph I may get 3.6 or so. I will find out tomorrow and report here

Mine seems fine. Let it sleep overnight? If that doesn’t help, contact service.

Fully up to date! Tested out HA on the way home too, felt pretty smooth
