You guys have gazillion EA while in Texas, Dallas has 4, Austin has 1 and Houston has 7 and I cannot even count Los Angeles with fingers and toes.

Yes, but do they work? Actually, on the very few occasions I’ve plugged into a local EA charger, they have worked for me 100% of the time. I’ve only DC-charged three times in the last four months I’ve owned my car.

Reality is more complex.
For example, going from Palm Springs/Indio to Phoenix, a 110-mile stretch, you'll have no EA until crossing the Az border where 1-2 out of 4 chargers are perennially out or commission. And then another 100 miles before you see the next EA. station.
Don't know your planned route back to Houston, but if you take 10 E, hope this info is of help.
No question metro LA is great for charging, though.

This exactly. LA and surrounding close valleys are packed with EA. Alternatively, there are also A LOT of EVs. So, while this may seem ideal, you can still sit and wait if you want to charge in many of these locales. I’ve said it before; the whole country needs to step up EV charging infrastructure.

Lol…and even so, the nearest of the 7 in houston is 13 miles away from me. So, I will need to drive 26 miles to pump up my AGT from home. So thankful there is home charging option:)

Palos Verdes!?!? What you doing over there? Also, everytime there is an uptick in EA issues you guys freak me out and I go charge just to check.

Charlotte has ONE, and it is in an area that might make you a statistic if you are there past dark, or earlier…

I went to Rivian Hub at Venus to pick up some gears, amazing Hub! It looks like they are gearing towards adventurous outdoor segment of consumers, this reminds me of Jeep Mopar. Anyway, if Rivian can keep up gaining popularity, I see game over for Subaru, Jeep and Range Rover.

While GPS Navigation led me to Bastow EA on the way to Las Vegas, I see a nearby Rivian charging station and check it out. It is FREE to Rivian EVs, they are like Tesla with their own network now. WOW 😮

I stopped in Barstow yasterday. Only a few chargers there. On the way back tomorrow may stop in Baker. Any preference?

I’m still waiting to find out what you think of your R1S!

I’m still waiting to find out what you think of your R1S!
Lots of details review will come out, may take thread.

My initial comparison>>>>>>
Software: Rivian > Lucid
Hardware: Lucid > Rivian
Suspension: Lucid > Rivian
Practicality: Rivian > Lucid
Family Fun: Rivian > Lucid
Handling: Lucid > Rivian
Features: Rivian > Lucid
Road Noise insulation: Lucid > Rivian
Cabin comfort: Lucid > Rivian
Charging speed: Lucid > Rivian
Efficiency: Lucid > Rivian
Storage space: Rivian > Lucid
Outdoor expedition: Rivian > Lucid

Even tho R1S Quad Motor is 835 HP vs AGT 819 HP. In every way, Lucid actually feel excel faster and from 60 to 110 mph still continue to zoom where Rivian slowed down more comparatively after that 0~60mph initial burst.

Even Las Vegas has so many 350kW EV stations.
Total 10!!!! Still beat any metropolitan city in Texas.

Ain’t nuthin but dirt and a convenience store with a filthy bathroom in Baker. You’ll have to walk about a mile north to get to Jimmy The Greek’s, which is a pretty cool place to grab a bite, and a Denny’s.

But from what I can remember there were a number of EA chargers there, and they weren’t busy, the last time I was there a few months ago.

The 20-stall(?) Tesla supercharger station across the dirt was far busier.

I have exactly 3 EA locations within 30 miles of my home. The nearest is 15 miles away…

I honestly think EA is getting better gradually. Few months ago when I drove across Texas, half of stalls say “Unavailable”, now I see newer generation 350kW.

While charging alone without sharing electric load last night, a model-Y came next to me to charge; then my charging curve started to nose dive from 198kW to 37kW. I then decided just forget it and move on. Then EA just gave me complimentary session. ($24.95)

Comparing a GT to other cars is almost unfair in handling and comfort. In your pending review, I’m looking forward to you comparing your R1S to other SUVs.
