Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Touring

Ok so I finally got a call from my DA who informed me that my car is now in the General Assembly phase…Not sure what the delivery timeline will be after that…Anyone with a Touring care to respond?

Like me, you’ve had a VIN since December but only now the car is actually being assembled? They must be assigning VINs now weeks before the car is built. I guess I hope we’re in the same batch…

As per @Adnillien’s chat with a Lucid executive, assembly at Casa Grande only takes a few days. Then shipping, then PDI at service center, then possibly more shipping to final destination for you to pick up.

My car is a Touring, amateur DD, VIN was assigned 12/27. When I called Saturday, found out production was complete, and today DA called to say it's on the way to Chicago, with likely arrival 1/20. So, a little over 3 weeks to get to delivery center. Then they need 2-3 days for inspection and cleaning before handing over the vehicle.

Did you get the Mojave interior?

I got a phone call from my DA today. Seems like my car is just about done at the factory and is going to be shipped up to Millbrae in the next 24 hours. Considering inspection, they mentioned that I should be able to get delivery by mid to late next week!

Great news for us QG/Mojave folks! Hoping to get that phone call soon…

add me! air touring, black, glass top, 20" wheels, tahoe interior, no dream drive pro, surreal sound pro. reserved: 8/21/21, 'ordered': 8/12/22, got my vin this week!

I'm sure others have already noticed from @Chrease 's post, but my QG/Mojave is at final stages of production and will be delivered likely by end of month. Worst case, early February if any issues arise in PDI or transport.

Any updates for Hardtop roof availability?

I think it will look sporty being all in one color..

I’ve ordered a QG/stealth/mojave metal roof touring with 20in’ aero wheels, feel like I may be a unicorn - my dash just says “preparing for production” ordered on 11/6/22! Can’t wait to get my hands on this car

Same Here, QG/Santa Cruz hoping we hear something soon. I think the matching color roof on the Toruring will look very sporty, but I agree I'm starting to feel like a unicorn. I did not get the Stealth but it looks good in QG, here is a HD pic I took of a QG stealth and I think your cal will look similar to this one: :)

There's a handful of us at least who ordered a metal roof and/or mojave. My configuration changed once they said that mojave was being delayed until Q1. I originally had glass and SSP as part of my order because I wanted the car last year. Once they said that wasn't happening (due to mojave), I removed those two options to offset the loss of the tax credit. So, at this point, I'm coming up on 2 1/2 years since my original deposit and don't even have a timeframe of when they will build it. It's not ideal. But, I figure the longer I wait, the more bugs get fixed so that hopefully it improves the overall experience. who knows? Maybe even EA will get their shit together before I get my car started on the 3 years of free charging lol.

We're all in this together folks!

Same boat as well with insisting on the aluminum roof, although my combo is CS/SC. There was a high priority to push out the Pure's (albeit the "Jenkins" spec) at the end of the year following PR's In the Air announcement, . They could always batch the production into the AWD Pure's. I have more hope for that than EA getting their sh!t together 😂

I cancelled my Touring order last Thursday, not because I don't want a Lucid, but because I purchased a used GT. My Touring order was a QG with Mohave interior - it started production with an assigned VIN earlier this week.

Loving the car!

I wonder if deliveries will be affected by Tesla lowering their prices. I'm still waiting for my Touring but I'm not sure how many others would cancel because of it

I'm sure there might be a couple of people who go with the Tesla given new prices. But I have to think for most people, if you are close to a delivery of a Touring, you've decided against Tesla already, and price is probably not the chief factor in the decision.

If my understanding of the brand is at all accurate, Lucid will never compete directly on price with anyone. Similar to Apple, Lucid wants to be known as the best option, not the cheapest.

Market forces may cause them to occasionally adjust pricing, of course. But playing cat and mouse with competitors on price is in complete opposition to what the Lucid name stands for.

My two year journey & wait for my Lucid Touring has come to its end point. Contemplated placing the reservation (21 Mar 2021) for moths before taking the plunge. Confirmed order on 10 Aug 2022. The VIN & production start date were provided on 9 Dec 2021. Lucid Spec: CS, Tahoe Int, fully loaded. The car arrived at Millbrae CA. studio for PDI, and detailing on 13 Jan 2023. Delivered to me on 18 Jan 2023. After aan extensive delivery presentation, and my completing the inspection checklist available on the Lucid Forum I was thrilled with how everything went. I'd especially like to give a "Shout Out" to the delivery team: Mike, Travis, and & my DA Laurence for the fantastic job insuring I was comfortable with everything. Best of all was the drive of over two hundred miles back home to Fresno. The only issue I ran into while driving home was with Electrify America. Tried two chargers and neither completed the authentication process. I'm thinking my account with EA may not be active yet, and will check with Lucid tomorrow. Having installed a Lucid's Home Charging Station a few months ago I was able to successfully charge the car as soon as I arrived home without any issues. All in all I'm delighted with the car and the delivery process. So much better than I anticipated. Great job Mile, Travis & Laurence. :)
