I’ve been pondering this exact same dilemma and wanted to see if anyone has tried or considered this route.
I took delivery of my Gravity Touring a few months back with the 22"/23" Aether wheels. Living in Northern Virginia, we get cold snaps and sub-freezing temps throughout the winter, but rarely heavy snow. The 22/23 setup isn’t ideal for cold conditions, so I reached out to Lucid Sales for a quote on the 20"/21" Onyx All-Season wheel/tire setup—they quoted $7,500, which feels steep.
Looking at alternatives, the official Gravity Winter Wheel & Tire Package is $3,750, which includes the 20"/21" Voyager wheels, Hankook winter tires, TPMS, and aero inserts.
I’m thinking about this potential workaround:
Buy the $3,750 Winter Package from Lucid.
Dismount the brand-new Hankook winter tires and sell them privately (or trade them at a tire shop) to recoup some cash.
Buy a set of 20"/21" EV-rated All-Seasons (like the Hankook iON evo AS) to mount on the Voyager wheels for year-round cold/wet driving.
Store my 22"/23" Aethers for warmer weather or future use.
Has anyone done this, or seen Lucid sell just the 20"/21" Voyager wheels standalone without tires?
Thanks.
