I drive from the Bay Area up to the Sierras most weekends, and the winter gravel that Caltrans applies for traction really pits and sometimes cracks my previous cars’ windscreens such that I have to replace them on average every couple of years. I know that the Gravity hasn’t been around long enough for there to be a good history of windscreen durability, but given the potential cost and time that will be required to replace one, I though I’d ask… Does anyone have any experience with this issue, or hopefully stories of the glass being nearly bulletproof? 😬

No stories, but two notes:
1) it’s extremely sloped, so many pebbles and rocks that would otherwise chip just bounce off
2) you may want to consider an exterior windshield film just in case

Thank you, I will look into that!

I had similar concerns with the glass canopy roof on my Air. I had ExoShield windshield film installed for that reason. I believe it was about $500 but considering that a new windshield can be several thousand dollars it seemed well worth it.
