What model year is the beginning of relatively bug free operation?

Your post makes perfect sense. Those are definitely fixable bugs, and that was my only point. I have… none of them, lol. But I understand others have some of them and evidently you have all of them.

Push back on the soft close. That should’ve been fixed by now, as well as scheduled charging and the heated steering wheel.

The Drive Assist issue is absolutely unique and not a software issue; that needs to get serviced.

It's not unique to me. There is a post somewhere here where people mentioned exactly the same thing. It quits abruptly or just won't engage again, and it just "bongs". I have a video, actually a few.

Did you get the cameras replaced? I did, which fixed that problem. There’s a TSB for a batch of cameras which I think is what can cause the Drive Assist to suddenly alert not available, just as you’ve experienced. It has not happened to me since the camera fix.

As for the soft close issue, yes it’s software. Yours is not broken, right, it just happens sometimes? Mine does that too. Like about 10-15% of the time it won’t soft close and everyone I talked to at service said it’s software and they’re working on it. If your soft close doesn’t work 100% of the time then it’s more likely mechanical.

I gave CS a time of when the alert happened. I’m not sure if they pulled logs but they drove the car and could not replicate it. However I also had surround camera issues occasionally and they determined mine were part of a batch that could fail so they replaced them and recalibrated the ADAS and I have not had one DD Pro failure since then, and before then I had the identical problem you had, with ACC not even activating and it would be greyed out. Here’s a pic of the service invoice for that part.

I should also say by far the best way to communicate with customer service is to see if you can get the # for their service coordinator and just text them. Of course be reasonable and respectful of normal working hours, and I try to avoid texting them unless they missed a voicemail or something, as they are pretty slammed with service and these things do take time, but seriously their CS representatives at the service center and studio have been so responsive and helpful all the time (there’s at least 6 people I can think of who have consistently been great) that I feel like they should get some award or something. For Volvo, Mercedes and Subaru I was just a number in a line and they would just shrug half the time instead of looking into things further. Not so with Lucid.

I'm considering a Lucid Air Touring or GT. In reading the forum, it seems like the early year models were plagued with gremlins (understandable for a new car/company). I am wondering in what model year did the car become reasonably bug free? I understand that car forums give you a disproportionately negative view of a car's mechanical and operational integrity, so I could use some help in getting an accurate view of things.

I have a 23 Pure AWD and have never had a need for mechanical service. My sole visit to a Service Center was for a small tear in seat back. Otherwise nearly 14,000 trouble-free miles.

This is the model of Lucid that has had the longest time in production thus the most time to perfect, and has universally positive reviews with the latest CPU, consistent fit and finish and optimized efficient drive motors. I’ve had quite a few 2022 GT loaners and only one of them did not have some noticeable issue. Generally the issues with the 2022 are minor, but potentially frequent. I cannot comment on 2023-2024 cars as I have no experience with those but it seems to me the 2025 is the most “dialed in” car and it’s pretty damn exciting since the 2022 was already extraordinarily good and STILL ahead of the competition by most metrics.

This included one max acceleration from 65 to 115 mph to get around a truck that was driving like a lunatic (so I drove like MORE of one to get away from him). Not a rattle to be heard, the car feels like it was machines from one solid piece of metal… just an absolute joy to drive!

I do not think it will be too unusual as the weather continues to warm here. I’ve averaged 3.95 overall since picking up the car 12/15/24 and over the past week as the weather has warmed, I am routinely north of 4.5. The 2025’s in the hands of an experienced EV driver who is looking to maximize range appear to be significantly more efficient than earlier model years…

To be clear, I am NOT hyper-miling or anything like that.
