Weighted Steering Wheel for (Mostly) Self Driving?

I guess the safety system try’s to kill me more than it saves me, I keep it on but @Denali_Dane turns all the safety settings off because they are too annoying and try and kill him too often.

This seems like a YMMV thing, versus stupidity.

Do stupid things in this car and you will win stupid prizes…. But if your just not wanting to deal with a sheer irresponsible amount of alerts (to the point of cry wolf) then defeating it might be a safer approach.

I’m not sure of the air disaster that prompted this, but Airbus has a alert silencer based on repetition, they realized because of a air disaster that the humans can only respond and take seriously a certain number of alerts. That’s just my two cents but I’m sure others

On more than one occasion the lane Assist has caused me more harm than good.
Cruising along a small highway road their were a few pedestrians walking on the edge of the road. Well when I went to pass them I veered over the centerline slightly and lane Assist tried taking over and was pushing me back into the pedestrians. I had to give er some force on the wheel to counteract the drive Assist.
A day later I had 3 simmilar incidents within a 5 mile stretch. The first involving a semi slightly over into my lane, same I went over the adjacent lane to avoid the trucker when the Lane Assist tried to counter and pushed me back towards the semi. The second was with another small car same same he was over his lane i went to avoid same same. The third incident before I finally had enough and turned off lane Assist was when i was cruising down the 15 freeway with poorly painted lines with the sun shining head on into the cameras (i am guessing was the cause) the car abruptly thought I was driving out of my lane when i was not and tried forcing me into the lane beside me for no reason.
"Nopeeeeeeeeeee!!! I am done with this feature." *disabled*

Why would anyone want to drive handsfree? In my most drunken stupor I would never think any fucking autopilot in a car could match my skills in anticipating what other drivers are going to do.

if you are trying to turn off the function of the Toyota car horn that beeps every 7 seconds and tells you to grab the steering wheel, well, I can totally understand you`re confused. On one side, it seems the easiest way to do away with that annoying noise but on the other side, it is like jeopardizing one of the safety systems which is aimed at controlling the driver's attention. These devices are there to remind you to be focused, especially in a system like advanced driver-assist vehicles, and changing them could potentially cause legal or safety problems. It is always important to be careful while doing safety changes like this one because disconnecting such systems may not be legal in some places. If you are still interested, it might be best to get in touch with your local laws or a professional to know everything there is to know. But at the end, the argument that they are the main factor of driver control should be considered on the one side, it might still lead you to choose safety over convenience.
